vBF2:SF AH-64D Apache

Post by jayceon515 »

Since PR is allowed to use content from vBF2:SF I've always wondered why don't we have the apache from vBF2:SF which TBH looks superior compared to the model PR is using right now.

A few screens so you can compare both models by yourself.

PR apache:

vBF2:SF apache:

I know the vBF2:SF apache would require a new appropriate skin but that's not really a problem. I know someone who would love to do it.
The model itself looks far better than the PR one.

PR has some very nice models like Scimitar and CR2 which both look ace, but I think the Apache might look even better.

PR model is better, plus the from the looks of it:
AH-64 Apache - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
the hydras should be on the outside not the inside like the vbf2 model

The only thing that might be done with the PR skin is make the paint some lighter for Desert maps, but there are no Apache maps with desert so its perfect..

The only problem I see with the PR Apache is that the skin looks really dark to me, but that's probably a screen's settings issue.

The BF2SF one looks bigger to me, or is it just the lighting?

The pylons are all mission-modifiable, so they can be either way around.

You can have all Hydras, all Hellfires or any combination of the two; 2x2 is the default though I believe.

I don't know really...
I'm looking at photos and comparing them to the 2 models and the SF model seems to "feel" more accurate. The PR model seems to be more sleek than the photos.
But you shouldn't call someones work "utter **** poor" it's a perfectly usable model.

Is there any real difference between the WAH-64 and the AH-64D?

The UK operates a version of the Apache called the Westland WAH-64 Apache, and is designated Apache AH Mk1 by the British Army. Westland has built 67 WAH-64 Apaches under license from Boeing replacing the engines with more powerful Rolls-Royce units. A folding blade assembly for carrier operations is another important change so they can operate alongside amphibious forces off Royal Navy ships. The Westland Apache replaces the Westland Lynx as the British Army's tactical attack helicopter. The WAH-64s are currently deployed in Afghanistan. British WAH-64 Apaches are using the Longbow Fire Control Radar in Afghanistan, saying that it improves situational awareness and avoidance of other aircraft during tactical maneuvers.

Ah-64 is different to the AH-64D coz of the Longbow Fire Control Radar

But the WAH-64 is Westland and has RR engines, im not sure what the US use.

Simple answer, because a home made pie tastes way better then a pie bought from a supermarket.

Also, be a tad nicer to the PR modellers, they spent quite some time making that apache. Give them some credit, perhaps even a hug!

Both apaches look nice. And for the sake of the modeller i'm not going to tell which one.
