am i the only one with suppression effect on?
One of my favourite PR features is a suppresion effect, it's really cool
and giving a new dimension to gameplay, but my recent game experience points to fact that i'm the only one with suppresion enabled.
I know from previous discussions that it's possible to somehow turn it off, however as someone said it's decided as cheating, so i didn't followed up how to do it.
My feeling that only i have a suppresion enabled is related to quite few situations that occurs to me.
for example:
i saw a british marksman on hotel roof, i went there, he didn't hear me as he was still shooting his targets, from distance about two meters i've sprayed his position with full clip from my AK, he just stand up,turn, aim and headshot to me.
lot of similar situations happens to me quite often.
Like guy under heavy 50cal fire can headshoot me from 200m
As i can recall i saw only one or two guys suppressed with my fire during last few weeks.
Also some servers (like TG) are trying to fight against this cheat by PB kicking for shaders client. That's what happen to me all the time. So i'm using PR.exe and even with PR.exe i'm getting kicked for shaders, sometimes
immediatelly sometimes in an hour since join server.
I tried to reinstall, do all things suggested on this forum and nothing helps. So i have a suppresion however still getting kicked like a cheater.
That's shame.
Would be possible to get this fixed in next release?

Re: am i the only one with suppression effect on?
It's terrible isn't it - it feel too almost all the time that I am the only one being affected by the suppression effect when I start showering the enemy with bullets and the target just turns and headshots me at 100m+ .... gahh
The suppression effect should make your aim jump, making accuracy impossible under fire...that would be a true suppressive effect. If receiving incoming made your deviation wild rather than made you blind like it does now, things would so much less frustrating. Damn you BF2 engine!

I feel the same way! I use the SAW often, and just hate when I try suppressing someone and he aims, shoots, and kills me like my bullets were bb's.

This does get on my nerves as well, i have a good pc so the effect doesn't last too long for me, but you can definately tell when the guy who killed you doesnt have suppression

We have supression in americas army?
Anyway, the trick to supresssion is that once im aiming at u and ur trying to supress me, i can still shoot u because i was already pointing at u, but if they turn and shoot u under supressed fire, then thats shady business.

For me it helps if I see the long lasting suppression effect as being a green soldier who isn't accustomed to bullets whizzing by. Being terrified much more easily than the warveterans it feels like a much greater achievement when getting top score!
And play more careful, because
And play more careful, because
is really a waste of a perfect opportunity to take aim and headshot one.from distance about two meters i've sprayed his position with full clip from my AK

Users with alienware machines only experience the effect for 1-2 seconds. This was proven in video. Users with borderline machines will experience the effect for 15-30sec. That's no hyperbole folks, if I could take a video I would. The shaders effect was by far the worst idea EVER. Since "ubermachines" only experience the effect for 1-2 seconds I just wish they would let us turn it off.

Actually, even suppressed its possible to kill someone at TWO meters. Its not like your screen turns black.from distance about two meters i've sprayed his position with full clip from my AK

Turn your settings down to get the 100FPS that BF2 defaults to and you'll be on level footing; Trying to play with settings higher than you should, and having low FPS as a result isn't the fault of the Devs...Teonanacatl wrote:Users with alienware machines only experience the effect for 1-2 seconds. Everything is on low or off.
I say to hell with this thread. Please lock it.
1) There is a new thread on this subject every week or two.
2) The devs said a solution is in the works.
3) Too many saying get a new PC.

Re: am i the only one with suppression effect on?
under the effect or not, the center of your screen is the "cross hair", so if you see a target b4 the effect takes place then you can aim relitivly easy,
the more exsperianced players tend to be able to see through the effect more then "newbies"
i have managed to kill people when i have been under suppresion quite a few times, many of which if roles had been changed and i was the one that was killed, i would of thought something wasn't quite right.
PR dose now check to see if you have them turned on or not

Well, the DEVs are working on the effect.
If you keep firing, you might get lucky and kill the guy if you had your sights on him before. But I usually die immediately after being suppressed.

Re: am i the only one with suppression effect on?
the DEVs can not fix the suppression effect in respect to how long it last its purely runs on FPS so that relies totally on the players PC, so it will always be a unlevel playing field, some players with uber rigs can unlock their FPS and get even short to no suppression effect. The effect its self can make you FPS drop at the point of suppression but i'm afraid the only support that would be offered here by the staff is to buy a new g-card.

Can't they run the effect on it's own timer?
