What to do about the medic class?

Post by Flanker15 »

(did a search couldn't find any threads, so delete and point me in the right direction if there is one).

This class has surly fallen from favor in PR. v.5 every squad has atleast 1-2 medics, today I barely see one in the whole team. What can be done to make it more popular?
I tried playing as a medic the other day as it was my 2nd favorite class to play in .5 and quickly found myself pushed away from it. I don't know why it just doesn't seem useful anymore.
Are other people having better luck with the class or have ideas to help it?

You can still heal yourself with the medic bag. :/

And yeah, hopefully in the future medic will be something more people want to play. Maybe if they knew it would guarantee them scoring in the Top 5 they would try it out.

That sounds great I can imagine more medics in action with those changes.

[R-MOD]Masaq
suck it up and go medic yourself
medics FTW, we shall rule the world one day

the trick to being medic is ur smoke grenades and triage management, heal the worst wounded first, unless doing so endangers the squad unacceptably

Good theory, points as an incentive. However, some people think it's cooler to get points by killing, not saving lives. If you ask me, killing is a sign of strength. Bringing people back from the dead is god-like.

I think lack of medics is lack of cover fire. Recently, I've noticed the good squad I was in watching my back as I went in to revive a guy.

It's a team effort to be a medic, he/she relies on others just as much as the team relies on him/her.

I go medic all the time because it's a valuable position. If a SL asks for a medic I'll take it without hesitation. I have to say the class is almost perfect. Just give them a damn shovel!

^Same for me. I havent found any problems with it as well. The only thing that goes wrong with me is my aiming and killing but thats my problem. Everytime when the squad leader asks who wants to be medic Im the one. That kinda shows the point of topic starter though: Theres not many people who want to take the class. And thats a problem when Im squad leader. I need officer kit. Cant be medic than ;)

Yeah, the medic class is unappealing to most people and makes them go:

Everytime they have to be one. Though, you'll probably be seeing a bit more medics for the US Army :-P

But with the new spawning changes, medics will be vital, and people will soon see that. You can count that there will be more medics around.

I don't see why medics (and every other class) can't get scopes(or aimpoints when/if modeled), I know there was the arguement that everyone would use the medic class and heal themselves, but militia all have ironsights and you don't see them running around as all medics (okay maybe a few for the ppsh).

^ ROFL

We'll see how the medic changes have survived the beta testing, cuz I have a feeling they will be different to what is originally stated.
edit- death, medics are getting the m68 aimpoint in the US Army maps
