Recoilless Rifle
Since there's a bunch of afghanistan maps being made, I'm suggesting a stationary "Recoilless" Rifle that can operate like the Anti-Tank guns on Fool's Road"having to press E to enter, then use the WASD keys to move the gun". Afghans have hundreds or thousands of these lying around since the Soviet invasion in the '70s-'80s.

I did search, I only seen it for the back of the Technical, not stationary by itself, so please take into consideration.

Since many insrgents don't use them.....idea goes down drain. And as bosco said its already suggested in all forms.

A quick google brought up these results, all mention the use of Recoiless rifles adn associated materiel in different places by different groups of differing aophisitication and organisation. So, they do seem to be used and it doesn't seem to be a 'one-off' limited usage, although these specific examples don't prove how widespread their usage is.
However, it would certainly not stretch the ground of credulity to give insurgents or militas recoiless rifles on certain maps. Whether its needed, wanted or worth the effort is a different matter...

why not ? tu much power to the insurgent side ? pff
I would even like to see them deployable , so they cant be memorized and easily destroyed .

When I suggested it, I pictured it acting like the ZIS-3 on Fool's Road, in an emplacement, having to hit E to enter the vehicle then use the mouse or the keys to aim it. I also suggested it for Afghani maps, like Operation Archer, Korengal Valley, not Al-Basrah.

Milita units use them, but not insrgents, thats what the press gets wrong.IAJTHOMAS wrote:Would you stop these unsubstatiated pronouncements?

The Taliban and Al-Queda uses them also, which is why I only suggested it for the Afghan maps, so the "Taliban" on those maps could have a decent anti humvee/apc weapon without having several RPG gunners running around.

Orly?LtSoucy wrote:There not insrgents, there a Militia organization.
Any armed action against the governments of Iraq or afghanistan are by, definition, an insurgency.
A milita is harder to define. It means the armed forces of a nation in the widest, but is more usually used in association with citizen soldiery. However, the term has been used in association with groups such a the Mahdi Army in Iraq, presumably indicating the fact they're a improvised/paramilitary force and have alleigance to/centre in Shite interests in Iraq.
Also, it is possible, given the lack of standard defintion of both terms, for a group to be classed in both.
