I like this idea.
But what if you can still see enemy tickets only if you get enough intel points. You can get intel from enemy SL or Com.

Hmm, think there should be some rough kind of indicator as to the opponent's ticket state, but generally yeah, the idea sounds a good one.

Any reason for the rolleyes, Valtasar? A suggestion has to be bad to qualify for it.
I agree that some indication of the enemy state would need to be retained, if only for the commande since he is likely to have rough intel on the state of enemy reinforcements. Many times I've been playing, thinking the game was going well, only to see that we're 100 tickets down on the enemy.

Yeah, Commanders should still be able to see the ticket count on their command screen.

This would make the principle of the idea fail as any joe could pop over to commander status and see how many tickets are left, or the present commander gets hassled for ticket number all the time.[R-PUB]bosco wrote:Yeah, Commanders should still be able to see the ticket count on their command screen.
Split the difference - three band colour scheme for enemy troops remaining - green (full), yellow (2/3remain), red (1/3remain). Something like that, not too detailed but could reflect rough intel.

Re: remove enemy ticket counter
or there could be just an indicator for ticket difference.
like
green = team has <own tickets> - <nme tickets> >= 60 or something
yellow = team has 60 > <own tickets> - <nme tickets> >= 20
red = team has -10 <= <own tickets> - <nme tickets> < 20
skull = team has <own tickets> - <nme tickets> < -10
like
green = team has <own tickets> - <nme tickets> >= 60 or something
yellow = team has 60 > <own tickets> - <nme tickets> >= 20
red = team has -10 <= <own tickets> - <nme tickets> < 20
skull = team has <own tickets> - <nme tickets> < -10

I agree with this part.
The commander should be the epitome of 'situational awareness'(they have intel tellin' them that 'Enemy APC destroyed etc...and to keep track of things like that).
The grunts just need to work more on the 'Here & Now' to bring the commander's big picture together.

Re: remove enemy ticket counter
Certainly is an intresting concept.
I feel all too often people look at the score and then usually end up becoming lazy or overconfident. This is why it's not unusual to actually find some maps ending with about a 10 ticket difference.
This is a wonderful way to interpret and gauge an enemy presence without knowing thier exact numbers. Will certainly get people to play rounds more seriously then staring at the points before the round ends.
You have my support, a good thought indeed.

Maybe there could even be a modified version with similar guidelines. Like when the enemy has 50 tickets left or less you can see the ticket number again. Who knows? Simply yet another idea.Conman51=US= wrote:lets say they have 400 tickets green would be 400 -300 blue would be 300-250 yellow would be 250 -150 orange would be 150 -10 reed would be 10 -0

i like the idea of a complete removal of any idea of the amount of enemy tickets. i think knowing how much the enemy has left changes the gameplay to much.

Great idea!
I agree that perhaps little hint messages are required to re-inforce to people that their efforts DO count.
I know when I first played BF:V, I thought we just fought until the round ended, aimlessly. I didn't have a clue about the ticket system, or even why spawn points suddenly disappeared from the map.

Re: remove enemy ticket counter
Even if the commander could be the only one to view tickets on the commander map, that still means that there's only one person who has access to this info and the rest don't, meaning SLs would become slightly more dependent on the commander when choosing to attack/defend, as they would not know how many reinforcements they have left to afford it.
Maybe a new reason for 'we need a commander' in the future

I would like to see the color system and that the commander can see the tickets in detail.
But not a complete removal.

no point in adding the commander the ability to see, defeats the hole purpose of the change, all the need to do is type, "enemy have 220" and ur back to where u started

Re: remove enemy ticket counter
Eh, don't think so. It seems to me that tickets are the number of units that are "on-hand" for the engagement, while exact numbers aren't realistic, having the approximate number is quite realistic for the commander.
Oh course, hiding troops is also realistic, but that would be quite complex to implement practically.
Insurgency exempted, the counterinsurgency should probably not know even approximately how many insurgents there are because they're essentially hiding in the populace.
