Mo-Urban.....maps!

Post by [=TC=]nuetron »

Not just more urban maps such as Operation Phoenix, but more urban-esque maps like Basra where one side has air support, or one where both have air support: a Basra-like map where the the NATO/CATA teams both have air support.

possible maps:
-Mosul:US Army vs Insurgents
-Baghdad(not 2003, but 200?) US Army vs Insurgents
(trying to think of more GB maps since there are way more US maps)
-Kabul:GB vs Insurgents
-Wulumuqi: GB vs PLA
-*middle of f***ing nowhere??? couldn't find ANY cities in Georgian(yes country under Russian Federation) territory...GB vs MilitiaMilitia get:Google Image Result for http://www.offiziere.ch/blog-bilder/pmc-003.jpg
-Aqaba: USMC vs MEC

(I checked these maps in google maps) And I tried to find British maps since the slots are mostly USMC(and US Army). Urban maps are awesome, and PR will most likley not be short on Urban maps in the future to see. But even if these maps are not implimented, at least walk away with this suggestion:Give air support to one or both sides on some more urban maps, it makes it more fun.
(But of course no maps with Insurgency mode since you guys already said no to that)

Why no air support on inurgency maps? With the new enterable statics that are used in Fallujah (see those screenshots)caches could be safely hidden inside away from helo fire as well as insurgents. Attack helos on urban insurgency maps would be the most fun and realistic thing this mod could offer.

I suggested it before, but the team said no, it would pwn becuase the enemy team would just call JDAMs and GBUs on the target(cache). But if it can be hidden inside a building(or just invinsible to air support) then that would rock!

I want a US Army vs Insurgents map with Apaches, Tanks, Humvees and maybe a Stryker. It should have a huge city where almost all the buildings have roofwalls for some sweet building top to building top firefights. It should also have a huge river with bridges leading to a river vilage area and an outskirt slums area. An outskirt area that is 100% destructible would be awesome and maybe an outskirt oil production facility and a seperate oil storage area too. Maybe another destructible village outside the city as well.

An American Basra!! I LIKE IT!!!!!!

But it should be called something along the lines if...........BAGHDAD
Awesome, the only thing that would be needed to be made would be the Iraq-Iran memorial....I have seen pixof that thing and if PR can make that...

Show me a model of the Iraq-Iran war memorial in Baghdad..and I will show you the centerpiece of the biggest and best map since Muttrah v2!

Everything else is there(airstrips, destructible buildings, a big***, kick*** lookin Mosque) And since all the Saddam monuments were taken down, there is no need to model a bunch and put em up all over the city!

I will post a picture of the Desert Combat Final Extended map: Baghdad(2003), Now it is 2003, but I think that the layout of the city and airfield is a great one that could be used in a possible map for the future.

I totally agree,we need more urban maps. But everytime there's an urban map,we get lame ole' APC's...

On T.V. in Iraq, what's the main vehicle you see in the streets? The Abrams/Bradley/Stryker.And the USMC barely even use the LAV-25 anymore, the AAV7A1 is used alot more, even in Iraq,I've only seen one vid. of an LAV-25 in Iraq, and I usually see them in Afghan.

I would excapt I don't have: Map making program, Project Reality destructible buildings, the ability to make a map that actually works, the ability to model the Iraq-Iran war memorial, or the ability to send a cr***y *** make of the map to anybody....

Other than that I got half the stuff I nee........wait...no never mind, I had to uninstall BF2 completley(as EA support said) since my PB was fudged up, and now I can't reinstall it for some reason....

Awesome.

Maps are made in BF2Editor, a free program.

Well to make a map you need a strong will and a lot of time, especially if you want to make a city map that actually looks like a city. It's not done over night.

I have asked for a link to it before but nothing...

Anyways, I don't even have BF2 installed, plus I don't have the PR Destructible buildings, and I tried to make a map but could never make spawns...

Anyways, when I reinstall BF2(if I CAN) Then I will try my hand @ Baghdad. But it will(if I can make buildings) have open spots and a blank area for destructible buildings and the Iraq-Iran memorial. BUT Since this appears to be a very popular map and everybody would like a Merican! Basra...

I suggest that you guys make your own version of this map, in the mean time I will be making my own sad @$$ version, then be mad/sad when you use your awesome map!

*I already know*

Because I play PR, I can't play it right now, but I still play it. As far as I am concerned, there hasn't been a major update within the past few weeks, so I still know it hasn't changed.

Mapping isn't easy...well it is but the bugs of the crappy editor and crappy engine just ruin it really...

But anyway, i think you will get more then enough of urban combat when muttrah is released.

Okay, I'll put my hand in the ring, but it'll end up a p.o.c. anyways, thanks for the link Rhino, now I get to try to make a half-@$$ map while you should go ahead and make your own version. Meanwhile I will make this map then maybe publish it, but I highly doubt that any server would put a map in their rotation, a map with no spawn, no vehicles, and empty spaces where destructible buildings are supposed to go. While we wait for the good, professional version that you guys should make.

awesome.
