for trucks and light vehicles, this should be implemented because it makes next to no sense that an insurgent cannot hop into the .50 cal on the landrover and start shooting at brits when the M2 Machine gun can be found anywhere in the world in use by US and OPFOR forces.

Re: Enemy weapons on vehicles...
Maybe it would be an idea to simply have it as an insurgent ability then because no other army would take another vehicle because of the almost guaranteed blue on blue that would occur?RCMoonPie wrote: I was posting mainly from the perspective of playing Insugency maps....
Maybe only cell leaders can do it or you need a certain number of squad members in the area so as to help encourage squad play for the insurgents?
Oh and new idea
How about if insurgents find a truck and are within say 10 meters of their cell leader they can request certain British kits off the truck?
Before you guys blast me, no i don't mean limited ones i simply mean like the Rifleman or for cell leaders the officer kit? As to represent them raiding the trucks supplys.
You’d never ever leave trucks lying about if the insurgents could do that

Using existing code you could:
Unlock vehicles
Include driver-kill on a short delay for ALL positions except F2.
Then you could get into an enemy vehicle but you'd have to switch to the gunner's seat or die. You can't make the vehicle put people into the F2 position by default, nor can you make the game not kill people in the wrong seat, by kickig them out of the car - they can only die.
In short, you'd be able to drive vehicles in a limited way by hopping in and out of the F1 and F2 positions rapidly, and anyone trying to get into the wrong seat wouldn't just be told to butt out of the vehicle but instantly die.
It'd be a mess.
That answers your idea on just having F2 availible. Just leave it be. Its fine as is.

I wish on fools road as a Brit, that I could hop in a technical just to lay waste with the MG when I find them hanging out deep in the woods waiting to ambush.
AND Ambush them.
with their own MG.
or even when hilltop is a mess and they have technicals spawned all over the place.
Then it could be a tide turning move.

Nah....it is do-able.3===SPECTER===3 wrote:That answers your idea on just having F2 availible. Just leave it be. Its fine as is.
Its no more a mess than having the civie instantly die when picking up a gun or grabbing a mount.

It sounds like a good idea, and about driving enemy cars, I mean if an Insurgent with an AK started firing on you, an RPG lands close by, maybe even blowing up another humvee, would you take the keys out of the ingition before getting out of the humvee to return fire?

Re: Enemy weapons on vehicles...
There may be a few good arguments for it, but come on man... People are getting used to the feel of the team working together. No friendly vehicle firing at you from behind, while you're attacking an enemy point ahead. And no, there isn't enough teamwork out there to cover the angle of always protecting own abandoned vehicles, yet.
It's not an action movie where you heroicly jump up the enemy car and mow down the bad guys and save the day.
It's not monkey-world where we steal eachothers vehicles and create chaos and arcade modes.
If you put thought into it, think of the outcome. Please. There's so many other cool things .8 will offer. Let's not destroy that by adding this suckage.
No offense.

Re: Enemy weapons on vehicles...
None taken...
Plain and simple....opening up the gunners seat would not cause this "action movie monkey world".
If you dont want a friendly vehicle's MG being used against you or your squad or your team.....protect against it.
Where is the realism of taking a Million Dollar piece of military equipment complete with multiple weapons systems.....and just leaving it parked and or abandoned?
Hop in a command truck in the F1 seat without an officers kit.....it wont budge.
Why couldnt the same type rules be applied to the smaller vehicles with the exception that the vehicle would not budge if the opposite side were in the F1 seat.
It certainly doesnt scream hard-code to me as it works to a degree in-game already.
It amazes me how some of you have your wish-lists for this or that weapon......or this or that vehicle.....or this or that ballistics......or what-ever.
And this......a logical and realistic aspect of realism scares so many of you.

Re: Enemy weapons on vehicles...
Sometimes your team fights very well an are organized, like the round I just played.
Many many other times things aren't working, and add to this that now enemy troops can attack you with own guns.
1000s of rounds will end with one team being totally massacred by vodniks and hummers.. and technicals at once.
Maybe you and I can manage it but so many people can't.
It will turn into something most people don't like I think.
There's a reason why we play this, because it's different from anything else.
It'll be boring to have an enemy with a .50 cal everywhere you are.

Yes. But what difference would that make? People don't do it.RCMoonPie wrote: If you dont want a friendly vehicle's MG being used against you or your squad or your team.....protect against it.
