Battlefield 3 (or special title) ever getting it for PC?

No I don't necessarily mean BF Bad Company.
But the next step for battlefield for PC. Is it ever going to even be announced? I have not been able to find anything about any talk on the subject.

I wonder when we will get the next BF, or hell even a new patch? (Not too worried about BF2 patches/updates but it still seems like they have left BF2 behind and forgotten about it.. same with 2142.. I go on the site and see the last patches were in like early 07 or late 06)

Say it was announced.. do you guys think the PR team would develop on it? Or just continue with the bf2 engine?

At some stage after bf3 is made the PR team will probably move over, but they wont just drop every thing they have achieved on this engine as soon as bf3 is released.

If bf2 is a good sucessor to BF2, same era (modern warfare) with a new and better engine, I would love PR to go on it.

And yes, I believe BF3 will happen, just no idea when and if it'll be worth the wait becuz lately, bf franchise produced a lot of crappy stuff (bf: bc, boosters packs, 2142, bf: mc, etc.)

BF3 need to have a good squad concept, support team-play and a bunch of other things for the PR team to even consider it! And as they've said before: PR v1.0 will be on BF2!

The DEV team has said time and time again that they will not speculate about these kinds of things now because there is no information about any BF3 project as of yet.

i wouldnt pay 50 bucks to get bf3 if pr is free and probally would be better gameplay wise (i dont care much bout graphics)

I always feel Sorry for PR….they have encouraged us to keep with BF2 over the years, gave us an amazing realistic game that is so far removed from Vanilla its now getting frightening. The detail that has gone in to every aspect improving and enhancing everything basically….

And what do they get, well our thanks and requests and that’s about it.

I Suspect BF3 will be that wee bit special with a lot of ideas picked up from PR…Don’t tell me the original Developers don’t keep an eye on this Mod. It will be more polished better looking and pact to the gills But PR led the way I bet with most of it.

They will cover up and re-write the book telling us it’s the next big thing, When in reality the next big thing I imagine is when PR is ported over and takes BF3 to the next level.

As always the Developers never push and always come up short. Wither its time restraint or money restrictions who knows but it will take something like PR to add that something to it.

I could be wrong, BF3 could be a monster out the box……..

Firstly apologies if English is not your first language but that above post is atrocious and this is from someone that is dyslexic. Please run your post through word or something……just a quick pointer its hard to take notice of anything written when its so poorly done…….

When I say the Developers I mean the original Developers of the Vanilla, they never pushed it they produced a good game that looked very nice. When you realise what Pr has added you have to question the original’s Dev not pushing it as there is so much content now added in this Mod.

So I’ll strongly disagree with you on that note…….I’m firmly on the side of the Pr mod but I think BF3 will be a stronger game thanks to PR and in turn will over power PR BF2 with its eye candy, new engine after all………

Will I still be on PR when BF3 comes out I don’t know.....I tend to move when I see something that has moved the goal posts and that frost-bite engine looks very good. Rather think I’ll jump ship and then re-join if PR moves to it.

I had a few rounds on Vanilla and its actually hard to go back as so many things now annoy me with it. For example TK for jets, Tanks that don’t kill, the one player cap of flags, and the artillery and the fact that you cant sneak up on them with all those commander assets.

Iam still hoping EA will get a clue and implement an arcade and a simulation mode on its next battlefield inspired by this mod (which I bet the pR team could still improve upon ). What Iam really looking forward to (and I bet the PR team as well) is operation flashpoint 2. I loved everything about the first game, the scale the gameplay etc. too bad the multiplayer part was abismally bad.

I just hope they do not hold back so older systems can handle the game……if you’ve got an old system like me BF2 caters your needs even more so with PR.

Lets BF3 shine needing Quad core and DX 10.1 cards…….as I’ll get round to buying a new system this year as my current one is now four years old…..

No offense, but looking at the Battlefield series, I think the quality of the gameplay, game structure and amount of fun have gone down every release.

I don't think I'd be buying this, depends on what Project Reality will do.

I wonder how much fun it will be when your about the only player in there I know a lot of people who dont own high gaming systems but still like to play a game of PR. All those people wont be able to play the new one than. I know your feeling though. I got a decent system now but I also want other people to enjoy it. So I dont care as much as how high the graphics can go. As long as theres enough cool features in tehre.

Got it a bit wrong mate, PR to stay on till at least 1.0 on current BF2 Engine which means the game we all love having plenty of life left in it. I have a very low end system compared to the new systems. But I will be buying a new one end of the year and it will be high end.


But BF3 I’ll say again just to be clear BF3 should be a jump and I hope it is not held back in some places to cater for low end systems….not being nasty but things have to move on and what is regarded as low end these days low end Quads or Duo Systems
By the time PR gets on the new engine (Frost-bite) I imagine it would be a year after BF3 release.

It will as the BF3 Servers will be full.........if anything it might mean lower numbers on PR..........although easy enough to keep BF2 on the new PC just fro PR.....

Also BF1942 was my Fav with great Dog-fights.....

I think PR should keep going as long as BF2 is viable. Once BF3 comes out and it looks like a good candidate for upgrading (which I think it will, especially with that awesome frostbite engine) then the PR team will phase into PR BF3 after completing PR 1.0?

Considering its BF2 from 2005, Sorry it sticks in the mind as I got the Game the day of my best friends wedding and I was best man, I had to leave it on my desk…….mental torture……….

the games has lasted better than anything I've ever had....
