Hello guys before i start to explain my little tactic i would like to say:
Its my first one and i think its crappy but i would like to know what you think about it... So basically its some basic stuff... I really hope you guys like it.

Hello guys today i would like to talk about the Smoke System of the Tanks and APCs. Basically its for hiding inside smoke etc... But with a bit train you can use it very usefull.
Examples:
EJOD Dessert/ Usage of the SmokeSystem inside the city.
When this really happens and you have a city fight with your tank you need a good tactic. Its not like any mountain where you stay... You have to think very tactical because mostly you are there to support your infantry squads. The the first things is... When someone is shooting at you with the Light or Hevay AT you have to make a decission stay with your tank... Or leaving it like a mouse. We all know the answer is we will stay! So know the part starts where we have to think tactical. The SmokeSystem can be your best friend. Lets say you drive down and behind you is someone with AT kit. The streets are small and thats what we start to use! keep driving once you can change the street (Driving forward left or right) stop for a simple second and smoke! now drive to left or right... Thats basically because know the enemys dont know where you drive and you hopefully got enough time to leave the city. But keep in mind small citys can be a worst enemy.
Second but not neccessary inside this thread is: Always got a gunner inside your 3rd seat! he got a MG and he can be more powerfull than your gunner inside the tower.
Now second part: Smoke System for helping your infantry,
Lets say you are at a flag and all the squads are behind you. Now you should smoke one time so the infantry can move onto your position to give support against infantry. Its very usefull because your smoke is better than the one of the grenades. It dont need time to smoke it will be there without any delay.
(This tactic includes your APCs too)
Example 2: You stay behind big rocks but a tank just fired at you while you tried to change your position. These are this moments when you have to fight...
Now this is mostly known but behind the rocks use your smoke system. Because of that ussage the enemy tank dont know which site you will come out. Left or right? When you got a good gunner he know what to do Drive forward stop let your gunner shoot Drop smoke in the same moment and drive back... Now you even got smoke at the position where you want to shoot from!
I hope you guys like it.
Thanks,
L-SGT Chris[EEF]

Re: Smoke system usage
It used to be easy to smoke out for a squad when driving past them in a tank/apc when the driver could do it with a single click...but now that the gunner has to do it, I don't see it used as often anymore. Sadly, I think that this is because tank/apc drivers are usually the squad leaders and probably "more aware of their surroundings" aka better players...but maybe it is just because gunners don't know how to cycle to the smoke yet(or are just too lazy to do it!)
Always nice to smoke out for a squad that is trying to cross a large intersection or open ground.

Covering the infantry with smoke is good. But the tactic with driving left or right isnt going to work as you forgot sound. I can hear it when an APC drives to the left of me or to the right.

it would cover you when you are a long way from the hostile armor in question.cyberzomby wrote:Covering the infantry with smoke is good. But the tactic with driving left or right isnt going to work as you forgot sound. I can hear it when an APC drives to the left of me or to the right.
