-M249 SAW. A beast, makes vanilla's sound kinda sad.
-M16A4. Sharp like the scope sights. Burst sounds great.
-G3. The firing sound coupled with the smoke effect makes this big gun feel like one.
-Mosin Nagant. Old world charm with the stopping power to match.
-QBZ-95. Sounds like the bullets are munching away at something.

the m249 when on the receiving end always scares the shit outta me, and makes me feel TONS more courageous when its on my side

The m14 just has that nice, excuse the language, "FUCKYOU!!" or "GTFO!!" every time it cracks. Its like BAM BAM BAM. So satisfying...

btw, is it still safe to call them sa80s? I remeber the name from original Ghost Recon and that name just stuck in my head since... or is it only right to call them l85s or what-have-you

I dunno anymore, I've always called them SA80s...

Can't really go wrong with the GAU-8. One of the best sounds on the Battle Field.

But as far as troop type weapons the M40 Sniper Rifle is a beautiful sound to hear, as long as its on your team or your shooting it, if its not yours you are only moments away from death.
