If you take a quick peek at the link i provided in the previous page, the only guys using the AK-74(m) are Angolan[R-MOD]Brummy wrote:Angolan Commandos!? These are Congolese soldiers.
Anyway, we'd like to use AK-74s for:
1. Variation
2. We've got sources saying that AK-74s are used in the Africa Region
3. AKM + AKMS would give it a Militia/Insurgency icon that we don't want.

Also that weapon needs to be reintroduced in PR imho![]()
Yer, I'll look into that.

Re: The Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo
I would arm their automatic rifleman with either the RPK or RPD instead of the PKM. Not only have we began tired on the latter (militia, insurgents and soon the Russians) but it seems like the RPDs/RPKs are more widely used in the region. Also, it's more suitable as a SAW. The PKM is a GPMG meant to be used on platoon- rather than squad-level IIRC.
Otherwise I love the new design plan!

RPKs are going to be used, might have to be reskinned. I never liked the vanilla model + texture.
Design Plan updated.
Anyway,
US vs DRC, though. Note that we fixed the Minimap flags, and gave Engi his C4 back.

Re: The Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo
I know you are settled on the AK74, but each and every picture I see its always a AK47 version there... Though I understand the reasons you have listed before, it just dont seem all that "realistic" to give them another weapon than what keeps popping up.
Also, I'll try to research what that light tank is all about, saw it in the video spush posted too. Would be a fun IFV to have around on the battlefield. Looks like it could be a good support weapon against APCs and IFVs with that cannon.

Re: The Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo
This is turning out really cool. I'd love to make a map of the western mountains of the DRC, but I'm working on a map for BFPirates right now, I'll try to start on it though.
Just a note about any Congo Jungle maps that are being made, the forests need to be insanely dense (pretty much to the point where you don't have helicopters because it will be to laggy, also no vehicles should be able to maneuver in the forests). Also, the forests should have foot paths in them so people can walk around and not get lost in the woods, I don't think I can stress enough how dense the forest should be. A town would also be a good map idea. It could have a town/village area and a large banana grove nearby.

The design plan says that the Mi-35 will have a crew of two people. In real life the Hind can transport up to eight troops in addition to the pilot and gunner. Since the FARDC won't have any regular transport chopper it would be a good idea to implement this feature.

If we do add in the AK-47, it would be just militia, but African, and less variation in the kits itself. AK-74s are there in Congo, a fair bit as well.

Re: The Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo
Light tank is a EE-9 Cascavel.. now I remember it from DC back in the day
"armoured car" type it seems
The image fits the Mark III version as described here:
90mm cannon as main, 7.62 coaxil and by the looks of it a .50 cal crew operated on top.

EDIT: alright Brum, I definitly see the point now. Good, lets move on now

Re: The Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo
Ah like that, well your configuration is different from the Congo one. I already had Brits vs DRC, just fancied loading Qwai as it's my favouriteJonny wrote:um, thats vs USMC. I asked for brit vs DRC to check it workd OK and that you have formed the faction good enough to allow it to oppose its template.
Anyway:
A renamed OGT:
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download DRC_test.7z
Now you cant screw your original PR install by accidentally copying the modded OGT over.
EDIT: BTW, you just re-named it? If I'd load it now I would get Brits, instead of DRC. Thanks anyway.
Pics will come soon, a bit busy atm.
That was the plan. Type in the Design plan.STORM-Mama wrote:The design plan says that the Mi-35 will have a crew of two people. Doesn't the sniper need a Browning Hi-Power too because it doesn't have one in the plan.
Nice job so far Brummy.
