Well perhaps i can help you :
Creating a new faction is not just making a plane map with a fugly road in the middle and set the flags to fit the new teams.
Making a proper map for example usually takes about 3-4 months(look at muttrah or OP barracuda...theyve been in work for ages).
And there is muchmore required to make a new faction than maps...
think before you speak.

hehe, your being a little harsh on him. Ive been down that ugly road of mapping, its very time consuming, and can be aggrivating with the buggy editor. Try not to take your frustrations out here though.

I'm not saying they are just plain slow, I'm just saying modding teams are slow because they have a lot of stuff to do.
I just tried to make my statement as simple as possible so that DavidP would either just sit patiently and wait for the mod, or lend a helping hand.
I've tried to make factions and I map (you know that), I know what a pain it is. My computer just got done yesterday after running almost straight for 6 days (3 days straight, 1/2 day break, 3 days straight) just to compile the terrain lightmaps for a 2048x2048 map (on medium!) I'm making for BFP2, and the objects are going to take at least another 2 days. I'll be the first to say that modding is slow/usually boring work.

wow thats really unusual... i mean lightmapping does take ages but not that long and especially for terrain on medium... you must have a veeeeery slow computer

Not really - 2gb of RAM and duo 1.8 processor, not that bad off. I had a lot of HDs (a ring of 50+ fire entities to start)
