50 cal turning head

Post by Conman51 »

is it possible to make the camera twist when you hold ctrl dwn..like when piloting aircraft

i see this usefull so u can keep the gun pointed at a target but you can move your head w/e number of degrees it is to scan for other targets...but this will only be possible when you are not in the sights

The only thing I can say is, why?

One thing my Dad told me, you never point your head away from where your gun is pointing.

You want to keep that gun pointing wherever you are facing. :)

oh shit my bad

if you were in the real army on a firing range you would get a a not very pleasant shouting.
and on operations if you did hit friendlies jail time buddy boy

have a pleasant day

its a nice idea but would you really look away while firing?

thats a good point but if on a 50 cal its most likely a defensive position or in a truck or something where your buddies can either dismount and help you out or just help you out.

If someone is taking shots at you, you press E or Ctrl. You dont look around while someone is firing at you...

I can see why you want to use this. But a .50 cal swings around almost as fast as your normal cam ( when walking ) where a helo swings around slowly. So theres no point in taking the helo option to look left and right and put it on a .50. Unless I am mistaken about the swing speed.

I like the idea, actually.
I mean, come on! As if you would just sit up in your nest and just look foward ALL the time!
And as if you would turn the whole damn turret with you just to look off to your left.

Situation:

2 Humvees advancing to N bunker.
2nd Hummer gunner is facing the N bunker, but hears unidentifiable fire comming from the west. Gunner turns turret away from bunkers and notices its a friendly sniper in the hills.

As the humvee screams towards the north entrance, the gunner misses an enemy RPG gunner with a rifleman, just finishing preping the weapon.
Things get messy.

He could have just had a little look over at the friend sniper and still kept aware on the 50.

it would only be good if you could use something like a joystick hat or the numpad to glance left and right, if its not faster than looking how it is atm, then its not worth it

Features like this may seem excessive or unecessary but if you have head tracking gear it is pretty damn cool.
