Quite inspiring statement you've made there. Never have I used the LAV/APC as a troop carrier. I feel so guilty for all the blisters I might have caused :(

I'm going to have to see how it works out tonight. Although, it would definately be safer to do that on maps like Kashan (rather than urban ones where AT will be and lots of cover)

while the APC might be a personell carrier in name, its an Infantry Fighting Vehicle the way this game plays it outs to be.

When you're playing a map like Kashan/Ejod/Qwai, while it might be nice to transport infantry around from flag to flag; an APC doing just that is going to be waisting alot of its "resources and abilities" that it has available.

One Tank/HAT or 2rpg rounds(assuming you're not already a little bit damaged) is going to destory you. With that in mind, you're better used sitting back at a distance picking off people that right there alongside the infantry where you're just a big target to get you and the people around you killed.

When you watch movies and see APCs right there being used as bullet walls, thats only in real life where a Bradley can soak up multiple RPG hits. However, when you're in PR, the Damage to Armor Durability ratio does not equally relate to real life, thus making APCs pretty much one step better than Hummvees/Ice Cream Trucks.

When you're playing a map like EJOD/Qwai the best way to play out the APC role is more of a combination of both APC/IFV. You drive, drop the troops for a rally and then go setup on one of the rice fields or mountain tops(for ejod) and sit and destroy anything that comes in view while people cap the flag. Pretty basic.

You cant take much damage, and having an APC with you can turn the tide of a fight. On maps like Kashan where there is tons of bunker fighting, having an APC that can clear the control room area is going to make taking the flag a whole lot easier. Like wise having something that can knock out a CO truck/Light Vehicle quick is going to make a big difference and having a full auto sniper rifle there will cut down troops by the plenty.

APC inside one of the Bunker CPs on Kashan + infantry squad and bunker = fort.

The only way the enemy could cap the flag now would be to overwhelm the squad inside the rooms and RPG you after a few attempts, with heavy losses.

I couldn't disagree more, spending some time as the driver/commander (the preferred position for the experienced player, will soon make you realise whether the MIC-equipped "public" player has the patience to spend time with you.

Use some of the VOIP advice on my guide/sig and get them talking, help them get over any nervousness in calling out contacts and like any "leader" give them some easy victories to give them some confidence.

If you want a working armour, use it alone.

Never use a tank alone.

Good advice, good comms adds 50%-100% to your combat capability and with an experienced squad it will add +50% at least per member of your squad.

Bad advice, - lone tankers should go back to vBF2
m0rdin wrote: #12: Choppers: Try to get next to an AA vehicle or at least an APC and search for cover. If this is not possible make use of your smoke. It's better than nothing.
-Close- to an AAA vehicle not next to them is the best bet. AAA draws a lot of attention from infantry, aircraft and enemy armour, stay close to one, and preferably somewhere non-descript that is hard to identify, preferably at a different height, so that te aircraft will have trouble hitting you both with the same bomb.
m0rdin wrote: #14: An APC is an anti infantry vehicle. It's main purpose is killing infantry, but it's also effective against non armoured vehicles and choppers.
When facing APC's and infantry, the best bet in PR is to have your infantry take out the APC and have you in the APC take out the infantry. The APC's primary role is to transport infantry, as once they are in a good position in -combination- with you (NOT that they go off on their own without your support) they and you in the APC are much more effective.

#22: The most effective thing on materialmaps is to move in tanksquads. Two tanks and a repairing jeep are nearly undefeatable. If necessary, take an antiair with you and if possible a third tank or an APC are no bad choice.
These needs an edit i think, doesn't apply anymore, and repair trucks are pretty absent thesedays :P
