[Question] Mec army?

Post by Scorch »

I did a brief search before posting this.

Is the MEC faction equivalent to the US Army or will there be a faction split into the MEC army and the MEC marines?

If this has been asked and answered lock plz.

I'd like to see them have a sub faction; perhaps one of dedicated Urban fighters issued lower caliber weapons with kits geared up towards CQC.

yeah the MEC is formed of diffrent counries therfore id imagine they would have diffrent weapons but fire the same round as NATO does. is the FN FAL used much in the middle east and some aks, all varients could be thrown in for variation

basicly not that a bad idea, but making it a plz give the MEC the AK back thread IS a bad idea.
=> i support it, as long as they do not get a AK, but any other lighter European rifle (Like the HK33)

yea the MEC army could be split up just like the allied forces are right now with all the community factions etc, I mean we have so many community NATO factions - canadians, brits, germans, polish...

We use the basic models of the MEC soldiers (IE the actual body & most of the clothing) but replace the "kit" model (things like holsters, backpacks, helmets, etc) with those of the insurgents.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Factionalizing the MEC would be awesome. Don't know about individual nations, as it's sort of like UN forces -- several nations working together (though, is there like a US UN forces, a UK UN force...etc?). Still, a specialist unit in urban engagements would be fun.

Jonny wrote: Using INS kit geometries is also a good idea, but it will NOT use custom skins. It is esentially the same faction as MEC regulars.
I dunno, recoloring the keffiyeh to being tan or OD & black rather than the red/white colors might be nice.

Like the idea with equiping this alternative MEC army with the Iranian KH2002. At last some locally designed weaponry aside all the German and Russian equipment they have.

Jonny wrote:Well it would be more of a split like top of the line army groups using the best available equipment and other army groups using older, cheaper, less wwell maintained or out dated equipment justin an area to hold it and really not ready for fighting. Perhaps they have been ambushed or the state of the art armies are not in the area or have been routed.
Well, if we're going for this approach the BMP-3 might not be a very good idea. It's almost as new and advanced as the BTR-90 so the reserves probably shouldn't be using it.

Maybe the reserves could have the .5 Al-Basrah insurgent tank, BDRM2 etc...
