Ejod Desert- Merge East and West?

Post by pwn3ge106 »

The east and wests flag should be merged much like sunset. It promotes CQB more like that map, because the flags are fairly close.

IMO the map should be removed. It used to be decent, but now its ****. No offence.

I like the idea, but you have to do it right. I would like to see a 100m cap radius with the flag in the center on both ejod and sunset. This would promote real house to house fighting inside the city for control.

One of the best maps IMO. Just very limited... only a certain ammount of strategies.

Bring back more flags on sunset IMO

Yeah, I would also like to see the city be one big cap but still maintain gas station and north desert as to prevent the really annoying cap outs seen on sunset city.

I agree that needs to be fixed on sunset.

The out-of-bounds needs to be narrowed, forcing the fight to occur within the city. Otherwise, everyone just flanks east/west from the hills with an altitude advantage over the city. If we contain the fight within the city, squads will have to earn every inch of street instead of running over the hills and dropping behind the enemy with little tactical skill.

What we need is Ejod v2. The current version just doesn't work well with 0.7, but it's still playable, and this suggestion could act as a stopgap until a second version is created.

Well helllooooo, then why it hasn't been done so far? You aren't the first one to say that, I recall Rhino saying that back in 0.6 that all the Ejod needs (back then) is new M16 for USMC and narrower combat zone. And we got the M16.

On the other hand the map would be 'unrealistic' because IRL no one is limited to fight in an exact area and because removing the zone gives more space to the map. And mostly because all the PR tactical masterminds want to be able to flank on every map, even if the initial map design never considered that.

IMO, what we need is removal of Gardens and Ruins, because they make no sense and are too close to West and East.
Turn Ejod into Sunset city and I'll never forgive you.

I personally think we need a V2 EJOD aswell, make it more eneterable buildings, make the city a bit more expansive, with maybe some shanty style huts around the edges etc, make it more infantry focused around the centre rather than the hills.

Yeah it is a really playable 16 player map, it's a shame it doesn't work out on 64. v2 is needed really, there's s little cover for infantry too when you don't have any APCS supporting you in the desert.

It's kinda ok for the MEC, cos they have that big wall to hide behind to the east, and the flag has al the trenches, rocks and the flag itself has alot of cover. But when your back to gas station as US, you never really manage to do much more then just keep the flag in your hands for the rest of the game.

Well Ejod Desert was made by R-DEV Thomazz and Jabal was made by R-DEV ali-tom, both retired and gone now.

Hmm, well IMO jabal does need a re think, as does EJOD, ill happily try for EJOD if I'm allowed, but we will see what 0.8 brings.

I love the map, it makes for much better fire fights, though, last night MEC and I took a good spanking, maybe depending on what side u start on could have a disadvantage but who cares, the fire fight was great. The map that I say should be a little tweaked is that fortress you have to infiltrate. But its hella fun roping up over the walls. I think on that one the infiltrators need to outnumber the fortified about 2 - 1.
