m1911 kimber

If somehow we could assume that the Marines in game are the Det. 1, then it would be only realistic to outfit them with this amazing weapon.

I've always loved using this weapon, in game and IRL. Would be great if it was incorperated. Even if it could be an "unlock" that was avalible to all players, like a second weapon choice.
Thoughts?

I actually heard that the U.S military in general was looking for some .45 caliber pistols to replace the weak 9mm. It could be a neat addition. An M16A2 coupled along with a .45 Kimber. Accuracy and Power.

I think this game really needs some special operations based maps where one team would be, say, the SAS, Detachment One, or the SEALs...

Nice pistol, yes!

The Kimber ICQB and MEU(SOC) pistol have been discussed before and we do wish to include a custom M1911 in game at some point.

MCSOCOM Det 1 has been officially disbanded and MARSOC has formed in its place. No word yet on if they will continue the issue and purchase of the Kimber ICQB, dip into SOCOM stocks for the Mk-23 lemons or just wait for the Joint Service Combat Pistol.

How are the two different, Eddie? Will MARSOC have 2,700 personnel(eventually), like Detachment One was supposed to one day have?

it would be cool to have the choice between a 9mm with 17 rounds or a .45 with 7 rounds =)

Yes! We need a .45, or even a .40. I havent seen any new pistol makeovers in use in BF2 yet and im itching to use one.

mabey even a flintlock pistol - a classic through and through. Albiet alittle inaccurate and slow but that can be made up by dropping your M16 and carring 8 of them. That would be so cool: firing, jamming, jamming, firing, jamming, jamming, firing, jamming, running for your life.........ah good times!

Kimber and Ed Brown make good 1911s. I would assume they would have a specialized tactical version with tactical sights and all.
