Re: more detailed player models
omg anouther topic where soo much false info is being thrown around. Please guys, if you dont fully know, please dont explain bits you dont know about.
1st, our British Player Models where modelled before BF2 came out in the very early stages of the mod, as well with many other models, most of which have been since scrapped and remade, like the landy, L85 etc models. the current L86 LSW model was made before BF2 came out for example and you can see the difference between it and our main L85s, and in .8 you will also see the new L86 and you can compare the difference yourself.
now the models them selves have not been updated since v0.4, the only thing that has been updated for them has been the textures which makes them look different but they are still the same model. They are also in no way based off any other BF2 solider model...
Now you may think it is easy to wack a AT4 or w/e on the back of a player, but the fact it it is not as simple as adding a line of code and say "put this weapon here". The SRAW for example is in fact part of the player model itself, it is not separate, even thou you can only see it on the AT kit, that is because in code you can state which pre set "kit load out" (which is pre set in the export of the model) each kit uses by a line of code in the kits .con file or anouther file, not 100% sure which thou pretty sure its in the kits.con file. This means if we wanted a AT4 on the back of the US player model, we would need to export the player model with the AT4 in one of its pre defined kit load outs. Since we can't edit EA's models, this means we would need to make new player models from scratch.
As for doing this for the brit player models, right now we have bigger things to be dealing with and are talking about at some time redoing our current player models since Stigger (who made them before BF2 came out, and since has made the CR2, landy, apache, scimitar etc etc) has learnt loads since than and could do a really smashing job if he made some new ones, the main question is really priority as it dont take 5mins to make a whole new set of player models.
Thou the main point being it simply aint really worth digging up the old export files for the brit player models and adding things like AT4s etc to them right now. If we made new models we would defiantly do this since we now have a very good understanding on how they work, before BF2 came out, they where made around how HL2 player models worked, we in fact got the player models into CS:S before they got into BF2.
I think that answers everything in here, and yes, this has been suggested many times before....

Re: more detailed player models
This could be done with the brits kits but it means alot and i mean ALOT (Trust me i know) of modeling and importing ect...Conman51=US= wrote:now im not talking about graphics but im talking about stuff like the SRAW on a marines back when hes carrying a AT4....is it possible to make it like he is carrying a AT4 or Stinger....but idk because is it only taht u can have 7 skins like the bf2 ones
Now i would be happy to do this for the brits (Or any Factions that are using the brit geometry's, reason being we cant edit bf2v models) but someone that can import them will have todo the imports as i know how to build a rocket more then i do about importing kits
Just take i look at my Heavy AT for the ADF Mod (See how he has the Carl Gustav on hes back)

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

Re: more detailed player models
well i was thinking about this and i think you only would have to change to kits of each team..the AA and the LAT...but my questions have been answered that this is low priority so i will now shut up!!!!
