I play PR with an average FPS rate of 30-50 depending on the map, usually 80-100 on desert maps (Jabal, Kashan).
We all know that the lovely little suppression effect is based on frames and the faster your frames go, the less you experience it.
So here I am, stuck a rooftop at Sunset City, a nearby PLA marksman just got headshoted and thinking 'since then thing is so ridiculously accurate, why let it disappear' and pick it up.
I stay back to avoid being spotted and when I peek over I see a US rifleman taking cover behind a staircase, I take two shots at him at I'm convinced I just killed him. But no, I take another peek, fire at him again, this time bullet goes 10 cm past his head and hits the ground next to him and he just fires back at me, wounding me with one shot.
At that moment a lot more fire comes my way and I turn away from that spot, waiting for the suppression effect to wear off. I peek again and start shooting at a squad bunched up. Convinced that I am in fact suppressing them, like they suppressed me, one of them looks at me and headshots me with one shot.
So this is where the math doesn't add up: how come could I be immediately suppressed so much I had to go hide back in my "hole",yet the people I take pot shots at, just fire back at me.
Then I of course recall the picture when someone had FPS of 2000 on low settings and everything becomes clear: all my enemies have an uber-PC and suppression from one or two shots doesn't mean **** to them, but it suppresses me so much like a tank shell just hit me.
So hooray for hardware advantages.
Next one: what the hell is wrong with people that want to "attack the mosque" as British?
I've seen some lazy excuses like 'a cache is there' etc. but we all know, that you are in for the kills. Screw the ammo caches, let's go to the source and kill them all!!111
Same goes for the Insurgents: why bother defending the caches somewhere in the city, let's all spawn en masse at the village so we can have head-on firefights with the British, because sitting next to an ammo crate is boring.
Head on assaults. Then you wonder, why you get owned so much.
Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle.
Of course after the M82 got removed, everyone's new #1 priority is to immediately get into the city and steal the two Mosins off the market stand and go snipe with them.
The British especially like them, because the are literally silenced. What's even more hilarious at times, people will sit around the rooftops with Mosins trying to be superleet undercover spec ops sniper blablah, while the ones with the actual British sniper rifles will go around the city and get killed in close combat.
However nothing beats the person, who takes a Merlin to fly up high, then bail out and parachute into the mosque to steal a Mosin.
Nice going, you just wasted a perfectly good chopper and 10 tickets so you can go snipe Insurgents around. Betcha you can't do it again.
But they do. I've been on a round where one guy even boasted how he wasted the Merlin to paradrop into the mosque to steal the Mosin. Then when he got killed the next thing was "Merlin up high somewhere" moments later a brand new helicopter is falling down from the sky and a tiny dot throwing red smoke flying through the air straight into the mosque. And it was the same person again.
Of course the winner has to be today, when I joined Battlearena spawned at the mosque, then I hear footsteps and a Brit runs out of the mosque with a Mosin up the stairs towards me. I shot him on spot then some Insurgent runs in shooting at me. I notice a guy with SA7 next to him going on the roof.
Moments later I hear a Merlin and think 'oh good, that SA7 guy is in for some nice kills' when all of a sudden I hear fire then I see Mr.Traitor[Teamkills]SA7guy on top of screen.
Then I look around the corner and see the Merlin landing in the middle of the mosque and tons of marksmen and spec ops bailing out.
I realized what actually was going on and alt+F4'd in disgust.
So to sum it all up, because al-Basrah is an Insurgency map with Insurgents in it who are at a huge disadvantage, every Brit and his dog wants to play it to kill Insurgents and Insurgents play it to kill British in their own ways and no one cares about the ammo caches, ambushing or searching the city. I think the latter is translated as 'go lone wolf and run around the city and when you find a cache, kill it with hand grenades'.
I'll add more when I come to it.
