It's not fun to die in a vehicle, less alone from going to fast on bumpy terrain rather then actually getting shot. How many times have you gotten in a car only to explode from a bit to fast collision with a wall or falling into a ditch?
How about we take those vehicles who are affected the most from bumpy terrain explosions and add a disabled state to them? It would involve raising health but only to make way for the disabled state.
Think about it, engineers would be more important, squads would still be at a disadvantage trying to go 90 off road but less so, and no more random exploding death when the car you thought where full health suddenly explodes on basrah. The times you would die and lose a vehicle in this version could be the times your stranded in the desert and have to call an engineer in.
So I'm kinda requesting what this guys says but for unarmored vehicles as well.

This already happens, cars get flat tires. I believe anything more than this can't be done because of the engine.

it's normally road vehicles taken off road that surprise you the most when they blow

i think what he meens is once its below a certain amount of health it stops moving so you cant drive it, this will then stop the blowing up because your driving fast to be replaced with oh shit the car has stoped call the REME

i really think that the hit points of all vehicles should be increased about 10x the current level, then the level that the vehicle is disabled tweaked so vehicles will be disables with fire, then after a large amount of fire the vehcile would finaly go boom. now i dont know much about the current damage system in pr, but iirc vehicles are disabled if the hit points go below x % hit points, so i dont see why this wouldnt work.

Back in .5 helicopters could take enough damage and the engines would start to fail. Its rare but I think that happens sometimes in vehicles. Wouldn't be hard to make it more common I don't think.bullock wrote:i think what he meens is once its below a certain amount of health it stops moving so you cant drive it, this will then stop the blowing up because your driving fast to be replaced with oh shit the car has stoped call the REME![]()

Excacly. I'm surprised people don't know about disabling vehicles, it happens to me quite offen.i think what he meens is once its below a certain amount of health it stops moving so you cant drive it, this will then stop the blowing up because your driving fast to be replaced with oh shit the car has stoped call the REME
It's already implemented in tanks, apcs and choppers, just want it for jeeps, trucks and possibly even bikes.
no more random explosion
Really? I know you can stab a wheel and it makes a sound, but i don't think it has any effect (It keeps on making the sound no matter how many times you stab the wheel.) Does it affect anything else? This already happens, cars get flat tires. I believe anything more than this can't be done because of the engine.
Qoute from the guide:
They dont mention for which vechiles it affects thou so you may be right. When vehicles take a considerable amount of damage they may become disabled, unable to move or the turret will be unmoveable. You will need to fully repair the vehicle before the vehicle is fully functional again.

Yeah that's just for show but if a vehicle takes enough damage it will get a flat tire. You can still drive it but you will take constant damage. It also makes it hard to drive.White Rock wrote: Really? Re: Add disabled state to unarmoured vechiles.
What zangoo said, but I think it would allready have been done if it were possible
The vehicle disablement applies to all of them afaik but its least obvious with the weaker vehicles because they have so much power and torque compared to a tank you wont notice a broken wheel so much.
Also they have less health so its all over quicker, you get invisible type damage where the first thing you notice is it on fire or blowing up.
It'd be good if possible that the weaker, smaller but more agile vehicles also have a higher rate of failure, 50% vehicle health should cause the broken wheel or other failure to be more obvious earlier on.
Also it would cause more broken down abandoned vehicles which should be an improvement in gameplay over the drive, die, respawn system

Re: Add disabled state to unarmoured vechiles.
I don't know zangoo, 10x seems a bit excessive. A jeep could survive a rpg which would be weird. Hell at 10x a tank might only be "disabled" when hit by a jdam!
Jeeps should explode if hit with rpgs, but not when running into mailboxes. Trucks could just be disabled by anything not bigger then rifle AT.
BTW i thought of something new: Multiple levels of disablement. A jeep first gets slow, then slows to a crawl and finally stops moving at all. A tank is slowed, then immobile/turret stops, then both stop, then the vechile cameras turn off and then you cant even fire. Choppers loose throttle depending on level of damage, from not being able to hover to falling like a rock.

Re: Add disabled state to unarmoured vechiles.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but its my understanding that we can't have the multiple stages of damage effects because its hardcoded.
