Vehicle Spawning at Bunkers/Firebases

Hello!
I've been playing PR and lurking on the forums for quite some time now, so I'm not exactly new. :)


Sometimes, when placing a bunker or a firebase, the jeeps which will spawn there often have a bad position or are even blocking the entrance to the bunker/firebase (e.g. when placing a bunker inside a smaller compound).
Another example would be, if you place a bunker on a building, like the estate on Qwai River, the jeeps would spawn at the roof, which is quite annoying and renders them almost useless.

My suggestion: Making a separate deployable car-spawn point for bunkers/firebases.

This could be a small object like a post or a flag (or even an invisible spot).
The SL could place it a bit away from the bunker on a better position (e.g. on a road nearby).

If no car-spawn is placed, the jeeps could still spawn at the bunker/firebase.

This is a great idea, I second the medal vote. However let just hope it's possible without to much extra stress on the Devs.

Sounds good to me. :) Can't tell ya how many times I spawn, only to find myself in the actual car, and the slightest move either TKs me or squishes me. You can press E to get in to save yourself, but if it's full . . . :p

This proposal reduces the chances of that happening.

Seems to me this should be a relatively simply code. The "vehicle spawn" object could behave just like any other Bunker/Firebase deployable. It will be limited to one per bunker/firebase deployed. It will have to be deployed within a small radius around the bunker (i.e. 25m). You can only deploy one within that radius preventing multiple spawns at one bunker/firebase.

The only part that would require some extra work would be creating an actual object to represent the vehicle spawn. Personally I don't really feel that an object is really necessary. At least nothing fancy. All we need is a visual cue that indicates to players that "VEHICLES SPAWN HERE." This could be a simply as a wooden sign post, or if you wanted to make things a little more fancy, perhaps a small parking space or garage?

What will happend when the bunker gets blown up? Will that spot still spawn cars regardless? What if someone hits it with a HAT or a tank shell?

the same thing that happens now, its just you can position the vehicle spawner.
