Scope markings
What with all this talk of new ballistics, does this mean now we can actually start using the extra markings on the rifle scopes? and for that matter i hope the devs will remake the scope markings so that they correrspond to the actuall zeroed distance for that specific mark. so in a way like the tanks were back in 0.6 where skill and efficiency with reading the laser distance and sighting was important.
and actually this would make the squad leader much more valueble, squad members now would require him to give them distance readings at long ranges

umm afaik the tanks havnt changed, they still exactly the same, if not more accurate then...
also their bullet drop starts after 1km... so....
afaik i beleive that the extra marking will be used
also i donno about you but any decent squad leader already puts attack markers on the enemy indicating distance

Re: Scope markings
SUSAT's are gonna be useless then if you have to start using markings to hit at distance, SUSAT doesnt have markings,

Re: Scope markings
Well all of the guns that have markings, Have the markings off so they arent useable as they would be in real life. Also most guns will not be easy to shoot past the zero distance so your going to have to leave the long range shooting to things that can get it down there like marksman and snipers. Or get the whole squad to shoot at the area and hope that you hit him.... just like real life.

no what i mean is when you've got multiple directions of fire, we all know to mark the enemy but say theres more than one direction to mark, and besides i tend to find using the nmarkings useless if the enemies are moving towards you, i like to give constant readings which include how fast they're moving inCareBear wrote:umm afaik the tanks havnt changed, they still exactly the same, if not more accurate then...

Re: Scope markings
since the LSW (light support weapon) uses the SUSAT and is used a DMRBlackwaterEddie wrote:Since when has the L85A2 been used for long range sniping?![]()
also the FN minimi uses the SUSAT as wellLight Support Weapon (L86A2)
The L86A2 LSW (Light Support Weapon) is another weapon in the SA80 family. It has a longer, heavier barrel, an extra pistol grip and a bipod, providing greater long range firepower and accuracy compared to the L85 rifle. The L86 had a very similar A2 upgrade to the L85 also making it a much improved reliable rifle. All weapons within the SA80 family are 5.56 mm NATO calibre and like the L85 rifle it is fed by a 30 round magazine. The LSW is now used in the role of a Designated Marksmen Rifle (DMR).

Like Zangoo said, all markings are just for show without proper ballistics.

DMR, not a Sniper rifle.
I just tried using the M40 on EJOD from 200m, crosshairs were lined up on the target, I pulled the trigger and the bullet went....somewhere, he then dropped to the floor and put three rounds in my face, the scopes and the snipers need to be looked at because at the moment they don't live up to the accuracy you expect from a bolt action rifle.
It comes to something when even the guy with a G3+optics can have better accuracy then me with a sniper rifle, this has nothing to do with skill, a standard target from 200m away should drop when you squeeze the trigger with the crosshairs on center mass, it's just logical.

Sniper Rifle deviation has been noted and is being changed in .8

Re: Scope markings
In the meantime just make sure you're stationary and your crosshair is stationary on target for a few seconds before you fire.
