Widescreen Support in 0.8?

Widescreen Support in 0.8?

I posted a thread in the help and support about what i need to do to get widescreen support in BF2 / PR (well mainly PR because i dont give a s**t about BF2)

Someone replied that there may be support for widescreen comming along with 0.8?

i cant seem to find any evidence of this, is it true or is it even a valid rumour? if so should i hold off using a third party program to fix my issues and wait for 0.8? if there isnt then i will just use that 3rd party program but i would prefer not to if i can.

The latest BF2142 patch included widescreen support (LINK: EA - ::Battlefield Franchise::). EA have also announced that they are releasing a new patch for BF2 (Link: EA - ::Battlefield Franchise::). Perhaps this patch will have true widescreen support.

The widescreen problem is hardcoded, the only thing that might change in 0.8 is that we might get bigger binoc sights that arent cut off.

Îm pretty sure the news about a patch were just a cheap way of PR for Bad Company

so i will need to utlise the widescreen fixer program then for now i suppose, its a shame but i suppose at least there is a fix out there

Better be more to the new patch then sodding widescreen! (BF2 patch of course :p )

It'll cut of a portion of your vertical view, but this trick will put widescreen into proportion. Its fairly good, and once you do the "hack" (its not really a hack) everything will look pretty normal in widescreen.

Widescreen fixer it works great with BF2, but will strech any overlay graphic on screen, but will give you the extra FOV your widescreen shuld give you.

note when using binoculars sence it is a texture on a polygon that was scaled for 4:3 you will be able to see through the sides of cut off.

but when PR switches to pure 3D sights, scopes, and binoculars it wont be an issue
