i think you can kinda negate the lack of falling rock animations by adding alot of smoke when the cave entrace gets blown. that way, when the smoke clears the rocks will be already piled up and it will look pretty realistic.
known in-game as BOOMSNAPP

Same, unless I'm flying an Aircraft or Operating a vehicle that require a crewman kit, I almost always use the Engineer Kit for the British.
