Sounds great, hope you can make it.
As for outside connection, not a chance, its not even Broadband I dont think, I think its still running on BT "Home Highway" TBH, if it is Broadband its only 512 ?
I wish it was, but hey, it will all be good either way - might be able to jack up a stand alone "LIVE TS" or something .... or webcam link from a standalone computer? for it though ?

Ah, yeah that sounds like a deal-breaker on that front. I'm going to go waaaaay out on a limb and guess that using a couple of 3G broadband connections from mobiles and USB dongles would break all kinds of data protection, OSA and site/network regulations lol.. otherwise I'm sure that hooking up enough mobile broadband connections (one for every two machines, say) would provide enough bandwidth lol. That said, it'd be hideously prohibitive on price, too.
Oh well, looks like we're going to have to get our kicks kicking each other around
EDIT:
Oh god, a 6v6 ladder? And we're playing the ABA lads first? But everyone knows that Devs don't actually ever get to play PR! We'll be thrashed!
EDIT 2:
I can bring my laptop along with an inbuilt Webcam; setting it up so it had an overview of one of the rooms would be very possible.
We could alssso hook it up so it was set up in the cinema room (so long as you've got a CAT5 hookup in there?) so the Dev Q&A could be broadcast to anyone who felt like watching?
I've not tried running a small webpage with a live feed from the webcam yet, but if somebody wanted to code a simple page that I could simply run via DYNDNS or IP address and feed directly from the webcam into it, or a similar setup from a dedicated server, I'd be happy to trial it prior to turning up on the day.

Masaq, sounds a cool idea, if you wanna run with this that would be great mate.
If you can sort it out thats a bonus.
As for the Q&A Session, there is no "Civvie" cat 5 hook up in there, unless it was ran through a mobile phone just for that bit, and then we could hook up in the LAN rooms, through our connection?

Well, it could be worse - if there were one fewer dev going, you might have been stuck with me. I'm quite possibly worse than useless, so I guess I'll be putting one of the community teams out of the running.'[R-DEV wrote:Masaq;762495']Oh god, a 6v6 ladder? And we're playing the ABA lads first? Actually, that's a hella good point... it's a 300 mile trip almost exactly for me, if I'm to have any chance of pulling a late-night driving session on the Saturday, heading down on the Friday afternoon will be a bloody good idea.
Anyone fancy meeting on the Friday for a pre-LAN night in a nearby B&B or cheap hotel (or the roadside camping *shudder*
) for food and drinks?
Hmmm, I'll have a little look at working out how to stream the webcam via a publically accessable site. If someone's got a mobile that can handle streaming video for 30 minutes or so, that'd work fine, but I know for a fact it'd be more than my GPRS (and tarrif) could possibly support.
I'll see if I can get the webcam set up this afternoon for a trial run. I'm fed up with working, doing something different for a while would be good

I suspect you'll need something a little more substantial, Vig. No provisional driving license or similar?

As NickBondage already pointed out a few threads back, if you are in RGG very important to remember:
"BRING A SLEEPING BAG THIS TIME!"
I know, normally at your private Lan parties you all share one, but you can save that for next RGG event.
So yes, remember RGG guys, separate sleeping bags.

(For the record; at the RGG events, I have my own room, I have no part in their pervy antics, they are mostly "eww, girl.. cooties".)

If there's somewhere cheap I'd go with the B&B/hotel option, but I'm fairly skint atm. Any local knowledge where to stay, UKF/Undies?[R-DEV]Masaq wrote:Anyone fancy meeting on the Friday for a pre-LAN night in a nearby B&B or cheap hotel (or the roadside camping *shudder*) for food and drinks?

Yeah, that'd be a concern for me, too. NHS-student pay isn't great and I don't think my final loan payment will have arrived by then either. A T&T mate has offered a sofa for the night somewhat closer to Bovington than I am though, and I've a friend in Southhampton I might be able to crash with though so it's looking like I might be able to break up the journey that way.

Could be an idea that one?
Leave it with me for a few days, I may be able to do one better than "cheap"

ohh, so now it's almost like a 2 night event!
A few more nights and I'm in too.
(can't be bothered to pay 200e in travel expenses for like 3 days)

Another quick update guys.
The trip to the Bovington Tank Museum now has a tour included and is to be given by none other than the Museum Director. More info on the museum for those who have never been before http://www.tankmuseum.org/home.html
@ Viglen, PM me.

Fantastic work for sorting out that visit with the director UK_Force/Undies. It's looking almost as good as the previous visit. (Without of course our rather good performance(if i say so myself) at the infantry simulator). Cover those arcs boys.
Look forward to hearing the directors expertise this time, for those who don't know the tank museuem i have been going there almost every year since i was a young boy and its great every time.
(Quite why i didn't end up in a tank on a permanent basis amazes me...)
