Soft-skin vehicle weight too low

Post by Psyko »

[Proposal] Increase weight of Trucks and Cars.

You know how on a map like Bi ming, when driving the com truck...The nose of the vehicle peaks after coming over the back of a hill?
And while the nose is up, and you try and turn the truck you can't because its bouncing all over the place. Myself and a couple of clan mates reckon the weight of the vehicles such as rovers and comtrucks is disproportunate.
They need to be heavier, or they will continue to bounce and flop all over the place instead of clinging to the ground like they really should.
Right now, the weight is like half the weight of a small hatchback car imo.

If anyone has a truck in real life thats the size of a comtruck in PR, can you give a brief account of how the handling feels? have you ever experianced floating while going over a hill at high speeds Etc.

regards. :-)

I agree 100%

I hate coming over a hill then bouncing like a bunny 4 or 5 times.

i think the problem is that if they upped the weight, the vehicles would take excessive damage from small bumps. correct me if im wrong.

You do know you're supposed to slow your vehicle down before going over obstacles. It's proper off-roading techniques.

To be honest, for those that played with the Commander Trucks back in v0.6 you would remember how amazingly stable and adequate the traction was.

Ever since v0.7 I suppose someone just had to mess around with it and proceeded to screw it up. I don't see a single benefit of how the trucks are now compared to how they were then. Back in v0.6 they were flawless.

QFT, up it enough and theyll take damage just sitting there.

Com trucks are meant to be on-the-road type of vehicles. You shouldnt expect to do too well off roading with them on anything other than really flat areas. I think they are fine now. They need to be the big slow lumbering things they are, imo.

Though nose-upping on hills is not good and it would be nice to fix I guess...
