Boxes!

Post by darkwarrior666 »

A special item for any army's SF kit. I doubt this is real in the least, this is more or less for the lulz.

It'd be hillarious. But I guess if properly disguised, it'd actually be useful to hide somewhere. I mean how often we pass by objects in a map which we pay little heed to?

I see your point. Maybe make the box a vehicle, in which you can sit in, but not move. And make a "box" static so they cannot tell the difference...

Nah, not a vehicle, but a weapon. But make it so that it overlays the entire upper half of the body. Legs and waist fully visible when standing, lower legs visible while crouching, and nothing visible when prone, but make it unable to move when prone(probably hardcoded, but a man can dream). And make it hard to see anything unless you use the 'sight', which makes you look through the eyeholes, but makes your movement SUPER EXTREMELY ROSIE O'DONNEL TREADING MOLASSES slow when doing so.

btw, it won't really matter if the soldier uses vBF2 animations for this, since their upper body will be hidden by the box anyway.

obvious video incoming

"Thats as stupid as hiding in a cardboard box"

I approve this idea, but only as long as an exclamation mark appears over the box when detected.

HAHA i hadnt seen that video, thats really funny :P

What you could do, easily, to fix the people knowing where the fake user boxes are is to make some static ones randomly spawn in just like caches. Its very doable. Place them in about 200 places, then have only 50 or so spawn each round :P

Someone get on this

LMAO CP! I hadn't seen that vid before, best thing about BFBC is the videos / jokes, the game itself looks utter rubbish but the jokes, vids and the animation work that goes into them is cool as hell!

not enough for me to want to buy it thou :p

Yeah, ps3 downloadable demo was decent. The camera though in first person is set to like 60 degrees FoV and its like WAAAAAAAY zoomed in. I felt so completely lost at all times because I couldnt see anything except for what was damn near directly in front of me... FoV is one big thing that ruins games imho. Halo2 had a terribly limited field of view and I couldnt play it because of it...

I'd say it was ****. And I don't mean a little crappy or buggy, I mean complete and utter shite. Like COD4 without the good bits.

But back OT: can we have metal barrels as well?

Don't see a problem with adding barrels as well. It'll increase the chance of hiding. I mean some will be at the barrels, others might be at the boxes, and unless they move, you can't be sure aye? Also, good idea, OkitaMakoto. Adding static boxes/barrels which aren't usable, to throw off others.

Problem is, a barrel is even more unrealistic than the box. The box seems feasible(in a completely unorthodox sense), but a barrel? It'd be too hard to move, nearly impossible to crouch and completely impossible to prone, and you wouldn't be able to fit all your soldier's equipment in the barrel.
