Check Your Fire!!!
Even though the commo rose is chocca block with commands, any chance we could see a "Check Your Fire!" command, that when issued, alerts the entire team (or anyone allied within a certain radius) with a little message (orange for emphasis like the python script?) and possibly a radio burst. Too often im being shot at by friendlies and have no way to tell them to check their fire except to stop and type which often results in my death.
Alternatively, is it possible to bind a key to a certain message?

Re: Check Your Fire!!!
You mean something like this that should have been done a long time ago?

This detail should be much higher on the "things to do" list than new reload animations. But I don't call the shots.
Still waiting for the "Friendly Fire" radio call to show up. Hopefully v0.8 will take care of it, if it's not I'll have to profusely beat my head against the wall.

I think it'd be a nice addition, because as it is now in .75, shouts of friendly fire from the victims aren't seen on the main chat box, because they're grunts. With new localization files in .8, hopefully these will be highlighted even more to warn of blue on blue.
Still, this little addition can be handy.

That's already there. It's available in the Q-rose when you have a grenade in your hand.Conman51=US= wrote:we already had a thread like this but w/e...their also needs to be something like "move your as$, frag!!!!!"

Well, anything is better than nothing. And currently we have nothing. So bring on the "Friendly Fire" team communication macros.

Re: Check Your Fire!!!
Isnt there a standard sound in BF which warning you when you shooting at friendlys? So wouldnt it be doubled feature?
Dont get me wrong. The idea here isnt bad, but i dont read any messages if i am in fire fight. And if somebody wont stop shooting if he hearing the standard radio message i dont think he will stop by any text commands. Because you descry something much more in an acoustical way than in a visual way.

If you shoot an infantryman it will not be broadcasted over the radio but if you are in close proximity you will hear him say it.
Also when you shoot someone or something a message will appear of something like "Team damage, watch your fire" but you wont hear it. It just appears below the normal communication/text box. I belive these are called warning messages.
Besides by the time a person figures out they're shooting at a friendly its too late. The person is dead, and probably spammed "FF! FF! FFFFFFF!" in the communication box 10 times before you noticed it. A simple radio call will fix these issues.
Now if we can only get medics with communication calls with "Good To Go", "First Aid Here" and "Cover Me". But we only have the first 2 mentioned coming into game for version v0.8 so we still have work to be done for Medics.
The "Cover Me" call is still in need to be placed with Medics. --== HINT HINT ==--

Re: Check Your Fire!!!
Really need a verbal warning for the person trying to kill that 'enemy solder over there', even though its a team mate.
Have been killed many times as a Marksman, sitting somewhere nice and hidden from the enemy direction only to have a blue guy (who I'm looking at) start firing rounds at me, thinking hes uber leet for 'owning' this enemy sniper.
Normally get 3/4 of my 'stop shooting your own team idiot' message done before I get killed.

Re: Check Your Fire!!!
Can a radio broadcast be sent to only one person and received at long range? If this was a system-wide broadcast on the command rose, everybody would spam it.

Re: Check Your Fire!!!
This would be an awesome feature to see.
And hopefully we could remove the friendly fire warnings while shooting. Gunfire is gunfire, you should hide if you get the chance.
I'd also like to see the 'teamkill' messages removed, but I can see that admins can see massive teamkill sprees. I should hope, though, that players would call for an admin's help when teamkills occur.

Really? I mean, I know it's a simple fix but the animation changes are the single biggest departure from vBF2 gameplay to be included in 0.8, and one of the biggest departures from vBF2 gameplay overall - right up there with changes such as no SL spawn, Minimap removal and the kit system.M.Warren wrote: This detail should be much higher on the "things to do" list than new reload animations.
