My little suggestion

Post by wow-ivan »

First of all i want to say good job with the game! :D
Now heres my lil suggestion

I heared that years ago there was an agreement that most military weapons were to use full metal jacket rounds(Not hollow point)The reason? So the bullet doesnt open up like a flower and DeFiNetLy kill the guy. This was called mameing i think?, is there any way that this could be somehow implemented into the game?I know alot of you guys are going to say that once your shot you start to bleed and all that stuff, but what gets me is when you get shot once or twice in the gut, than you bandage yourself and walk of or run away with bullets in you wile bleeding and than bandage yourself :? ??:.To explain the meaning of Mameing it means even if I shoot you in the chest, leg, gut or anywere else even with a 9mm you will definetly be on the ground crying, draging your body away, limping slowly..ect ect.You should drop extremely blured vision even and you should slow down. Im not a programmer so i understand if it simply just cant be done but i think you should be able to make some kind of adjustment to make and effect similar to Mameing :-)
Oh yeah and one more thing i thing that the 223/5.56 needs a little more damage and less recoil coz it bearly kicks at all.

Not possible to do local damage believe this also is a resuggestion and the pr devs also has military advisors that should know such a thing. Bit welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Dragon skin is not cost effective for our armed forces. It is cheaper to have a man die in the line of duty than to kit everybody with stuff that is vital to their survival. - This is why politicians should be sent to fight on the front line and the troops who give their very life blood should be given cushtie jobs in offices thousands of miles away from the conflict zone. LOL :o ops:

No, it failed army testing, and from what a few guys in the Army have told me, it has horrible quality variances.

5.56 kills with two hits at any part of the body, except from the head, there its a one shot kill.

If the enemy is wearing body armour, he can take ONE more hit at the protected parts of the body.

I doubt that is too much. And the recoil isnt really bad at all. Use semi automatic fire, and you wont have a problem shooting with the 5.56's.

About the injuries:
The game cannot make it perfectly realistic. We have the gamey element of a (invisible) health bar, and there is no other damage system in the engine. Plus, we have the gamey element of medics and field dressings that can restore those HP's, and there is no other way to simulate healing. Plus, the gameplay wouldnt be any better if we had people being unable to be healed again, cause they would just commit suicide and respawn.

Also, I dont understand what exactly you mean with the JHP bullets. Military doesnt use them at all afaik, so all we have in game is FMJ anyway. (Except Militia or maybe Insurgents, but even there i doubt they would use bullets with less armor piercing power)

this thing is that soldiers know this is happening. And yet they still choose to enlist. :)

Btw, is that the badge of 2REP in your avatar?

There is too much recoil on the 5.56 iron sights and 4x scope but i guess the M4 wont have a 4x scope so it wont magnify the recoil soooo much.I know lag can make you have problems with the bullet doing anything at all but you cant have such bad ping..or maybe its the programming i remember seeing a video made by one of PR's programmers testing the M16 out and it looked like he was hitting the enemy there was dust coming out but the guy said no im not bleeding or no im not hit?:S

I'm pretty sure there will be an M4 with 4x scope with the US army, the M68 aimpoint was only to Be instead the iron sights versions.

Here is a quote for you from a youtube comment (I know, I read youtube comments, shoot me why don't you) on this video.

This is bulls**t. The vest is around $5k. that's a lot less than the medical care of a wounded Soldier, it's less than the funeral expenses, it's less than the hundreds of thousands that went into training that soldier and would need to be spent in recruiting and training a replacement. This failed because it sucks. Its failed the Army testing, over watched by the press and Congress twice it failed separate USMC testing and it failed NIJ testing. It cant take heat nor can it withstand POL.

To continue, it falls apart when exposed to high temps, like say the 130degrees inside an air conditioned Humvee in the Middle East, it also doesn't deal with highly angled shots very well, nor with the frags that can be flying at extreme angles to a standing or prone Soldier. I had no fear of the IBA/SAPI combination I wore, and I have no fear of the IOTV/ESAPI that my buddies going back soon will be wearing.

do you guys expect to have all 100% of your hits register in the BF2 engine. id think that all the BS that went on in vanilla would kinda lower your expectations.
