All 'Community Managers' for BF2 I've seen so far haven't really done that much for mods and the like...

I still think all PR mods should apply nontheless. Nothing like an inside man to help you get what you want

I think .:iGi:.Drastig that now is on the russian border patrol was offered such a job, but I am not sure if it was the same job he was going down to stockholm when he got the call from the finish military.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Here's some wishes: fix the squad bug. Fix the texture flickering. Or maybe they have better things to do like count money. Not impressed.zangoo wrote:

lolz, maybe the new one might do something and maybe dice/ea wont sack the guy that dose something this time around!
The first community manager we had actually did something, made a few basic tuts that got us a small foot whole in the editor in the early days, but ye, after that they sacked him before he had a chance to do anything else. then all the others past then, the only things I've seen them do is make the odd post saying "I can say with a clear conscience that we are not giving up support for BF2" then nothing for months after that, only thing I've heard since is they are working on a new patch, *yay*.

Re: Dice wants mod input manager!
Oh look, EA really care about their customers and the quality of their titles.
Marketing dribble. They like to think they are caring but the bottom line will always be money. You can't support an old game, it costs money and makes no money (according to close-minded bean counters).
Or has there been a paradigm shift at EA? Doubt it. They will hype up how this time will be different, mods will really be supported, community features are important, patches are high priority, they will posture and preach and hopefully get people that are still playing BF2 and mods to move over to BF3 (having learned some lessons from 2142).
And the cycle will be repeated. Important bugs will not be fixed, the game will release only part-finished, there will be expansion packs that never get played after the first 2 weeks, plus there will be one or 2 new ways to siphon money from you.
Pessimist? Yes, but EA made me this way.

Well when I was over there for my intern interview the boss said they still acknowledge Battlefield 2 because of its large community. Theres mods, machinima's and still people playing the regular version. So they know its big for them and sporadicly its still bringin in some money for them.

They DO care about their customers. About the mainstream customers. The customers who love their products and mods which resemble their products, not niche players like ourselfs.

it can't be one person, I mean there is a lot of stuff going on. 2 people would be good for the job.
