More of a question then a suggestion...

With the split of the US forces into US Army and US Marine Corps. When playing USMC will the cry for Medic be changed to Corpsman? Just one of those stupid little questions that's been in the back of my mind for sometime, not a big deal.

i "think" the only way you could do this would be to make a seperate launguage for the USMC and US army. which is probably not worth it for such a small change.

But i'm just guessing.

I was thinking the same thing, but if this is what's needed to be done. All you would need to do is copy the current US voice files and just remove the medic call and replace with the Corpsman call.

That's a piss poor argument. That's like saying lets give China an M-16. It shoots and kills so does it really matter what gun they have. The reality of it is the Army uses medics, and the Marines use Corpsmen. I'd like to see you tell a corpsmen that he is the same as a medic. I've got a hundred dollars that says he kicks you in the nuts!

Pave mate, chill. If marines call for corpsmen rather than medics IRL i'm sure it wouldn't be hard to change it since the USMC are being made in to a separate team.

I'm not arguing about the change. If it can't be done or it's not a big thing on the list. Then so be it. But a corpsmen will correct you if you call him a medic. I've been corrected myself. Now if you are wounded I'm sure he understands if you call him a medic. But if you are chatting with one and call him a medic you are likely to be corrected. If you argue with one and insist that he is the same as a medic you are going to be beaten.

It's a pride thing. It's as simply as that. To call a Corpsmen a medic is seen as a lack of respect.

I was being sarcastic, but you missed that. Like I said above. Sure if you are wounded they aren't very likely to care. But to say they are the same is seen as disrespect. And you are wrong. I don't think you are, I know you are. A corpsmen is proud to be a corpsmen. And will correct you if called other wise in a none life or death situation. Try telling a Marine he is part of the Navy. Even though this is true, they will argue with you and get all pissed off. It's simply a pride thing. That's all I was getting at in my response to Burlock.

If you think about it linguistically though, which is easier to scream out at the top of your voice? Medic or Corpsman? Seriously try it, if you can prove to me you can should corpsman as loud and with much blood curdling effect then I'll give you not only 1 cookie but a whole box.

Just so I understand the stupid little detail, a corpsman is called as such because he belongs to the marine corps, and in the army he would be called medic? Either way I really don't understand the BS relationships between different sections of the armed forces. I especially love that fight in Starship Troopers, well rips the piss outta that kinda thing.

Whatever the case may be, I don't see it been changed. Even besides the effort it takes to put in, it'll stick out like a dry bummed ******** amongst the other voice clips.

Corpsmen if I remember correctly belong to the Navy and not the Marines in the US. US marines, which I know a few and done some MilSIM missions with, will call 'corpsman' or 'corpsman up'. Granted they also shout medic. Honestly this is kinda pointless though. Cool idea, but the argument surrounding it is pointless.
