Complaints about tactics
Some people have been complaining about "unfair tactics" like rush tactics. Does somebody think there is any such thing like a golden tactic to win the game 90% of the time ?
I was in command against an agressive MEC force on Kashan who quickly got south bunker throwing armor at it and fortified it with a bunker of their own inside. After they lost some of the armor that was all over the bunker complex I could safely dedicate 3 squads to reatake south bunker and my armored squad which was way more conservative and way more alive by then (thoug it took some losses as well) and able to support infantery all over the map while it was spawnage back at main for MEC. Obviously the ueber rush tactics did not work that well for them this time around.
So do you think there are tricks or tactics that can almost guarantee you victory against a team that is playing the game the way it is intended to be played ?

Re: Complaints about tactics
Slow squad = bad squad.
To win the game 90% of the time just need a good commander and discipline. Games are lost when squads does not defend or attack the flags. For example in fools road usually there is a rebel squad at the bridge. Why? just need 1 man for that.
Also when a squad arrive to flag if they see some enemy they forgot that they must take the flag, they go out of capture area when just need a bit for take it. For while another team squad is waitting in a flag wich they cant take when the others forget to take the flag. Finally total disaster, commander say bye and you know the final.
I say first try to get the flag, always stay in capture area when is posible.
When you arrive to flag you must to press "enter" key to see if you are capping i think that it must be fixed if posible.

Re: Complaints about tactics
If there is a winning tactic then it is concentrating your force. Not only in numbers but also in firepower. Simplest use of this tactic is by rushing a flag in superior numbers. More difficult is to use one squad (which can be armoured vehicles) to pin down an enemy, another block off reinforcements and another taking the flag.
That tactic can overcome any tactics such as MEC rushing East Beach on Jabal al Burj. If you get there with choppers, boats dropping off troops with the APCs providing covering fire then you will take the flag very easily. The problem is when squads operate indivually. That is when the boats go on their own, arriving first, then the first chopper, the second and finally the APCs, all led by Squad Leaders with Tempo Tempo Tempo in their mind not waiting for the others

Even the most practiced and organized plan can go wrong at any moment, all tactics in server rules are good. Such tactics that work well are all posted in the tactics area.

Only reason you can rush in the first place is because you already know where to go and what you need to do regardless of the situation. AASv3 along with CnC will change all that. Time to study mo fos.

Re: Complaints about tactics
It's definitely map-dependent. If there's only one point that's take-able, you know that they'll all be bearing down on that one point, but if there's two to defend and three to take, you're forced to spread out, else taking one point will all of your force leave two points open.
Razix got the right idea. If you have a good knowledge of the map and its inner workings then planning goes out the window.

All you need is 32 insurgents acting as a mob with AK-47's, RPG's and Molotov cocktails on Al Basrah and brits have lots.

Communication, synchronization and a good medic...that is all you need to win anytime anywhere.
Communication (team work not only the SL-SM team work also CO-SL because commander is the media to establish the coordination (or synchronization) you need with others squads).
synchronization (every squad have to reach one objective in order to the needs of the team)
A Good Medic (i have been notice the lack of medics just because medics aren't in the heat of the fight (firefight) well if your team mates are death forget about win)
PD: im the medic 85 % of the times in my squad.

Re: Complaints about tactics
What about the tactic of espionage? I haven't seen that one listed here yet, but has become increasingly popular these days. It's almost as if a blind eye has been turned.
Just the other night in a Mestia game we (Militia) couldn't keep a firebase up for more than a few minutes without it being destroyed. Most were well placed. The first was north of east tower and was destroyed before our guys at east or west tower even engaged any British troops. I'm talking about a matter of minutes after the game started.
Is this kind of thing hard for an admin to spot? I don't know anything about what an admin can or can't see during a game... I'm just curious.
