Probably already suggested but...

Post by TF6049 »

Co-piloting the F-15 with LGM's on it. Basically strap the heli missiles to the F-15/Tornado/etc...

Benefits
-Reduces A-10 wh**ing
-Increases teamwork between pilots
-Can also be used somewhat as a fighter

Drawbacks
-Takes modelling/devving time (I saw a Tornado somewhere, could we just say that was "On Loan" to the US/a Brit sqdn. flew in to Kashan since their base was destroyed/etc...)
-Harder to shoot down (increased speed/agility)

If there is A10 whoring, the answer isn't to add another vehicle that performs a similar function. Besides, there are already too many vehicles on most maps which has the negative effect of reducing boots on the ground which is the core of the game.

As for guided missiles on a jet, it would be exploited to hell. Think about it. Choppers with guided missiles already devastate the battlefield. Imagine a chopper that traveled mach2.

How would it be exploited? I don't see your point.

Always remember, maneuverability is inversely proportional to speed. So they would be easy targets for a SAM.

The way this would fix A-10'ing is because it requires 2 pilots to operate it (like a tank).

Not really, I'm sure there will be 2 jets with similar top speeds that handle and accelerate very differently, so one will be more manoeuvrable then another. Either way I'd rather be in a fixed wing flying mach whatever it may be away from a SAM dropping flares directly behind it, then a heli that has to counter all it's forward momentum to start moving away from it.

Anyway with the A10, the only guided munitions they get require the team to spot for, whereas with an F15 you get a much faster plane that could designate targets by itself, which would be much more of a pain in the arse for armour. So causing that much damage to armour would easily be worth the extra grunt off the ground.
