I think they should add the M240B in the new patch, i have never seen a game put one in (i'm sure there are games with it tho). Being able to have a M249 and an M240 in the same squad would be awesome (i don't know how it works in real life with the auto rifleman).

i also think they should add a feature where you can add stuff to your gun when near a base or ralley point. for example: if you have a gun with a quad rail in front (M16A4) then you could add a grenade launcher, a laser designater, a vertical grip for extra stability, or even a double mag setup (the one where two mags are connected)!

problem is that the BF2 engine is VERY VERY VERY *continues on for about 3 lines* VERY VERY limited....

._. don't think the addon thing like changing sights and adding a bipod or grips would be possible..

try SOCOM or Ghost Recon or something.. i'm sure they have that....

they are gonna have the fn minime in the new patch. why do you prefer the m240 over that? is it the look?

i think we all want custom weapons. would be quite some work making all those separate models for the same gun, and would it really make any difference in the long run? isn't all this a bit of what the different classes are for anyway? different loadout?

I don't think your idea on weapon addons can be implemented in game. But if you want to know, Crysis has a feature like that.

Weapon "customization" is possible. By means of making separate weapons for each specialized version, one with dual-mag, under-slung GL or grip, with different properties, but I think there's too much work for little gain.

Welcome to the forums. M240 and weapon customization have been suggested before. No problem, though. In the future, please make use of the search function and the "Already Suggested" sticky thread at the top of the page to make sure your idea hasn't already been discussed.

M240s are not found in TO&E US rifle squads, but are part of a platoon weapons squad (US Army) or company weapons platoon (USMC). They can be attached to the rifle squads at the discretion of the chain of command. One M249 is found in every four man fire team; there are two fire-teams and a squad leader in a US Army rifle squad (9-men total) and, 3 fire-teams and a squad leader in a Marine rifle squad (13-men total).
