How huge are we talking? If the performance won't suffer (or possibly be better if they are "baked on" rather than calculated) I say do it.[R-DEV]coderedfox wrote:You can bake in the light maps but the level file will be HUGE...and I mean HUGE!

each object would have to have its own texture....Korengal has over 4000 objects, plus sometimes two or three textures. I wont get into hoe a game engine works but no GFX card could run it

I seriously doubt you play fools road with everything on high while maintaining 95+fps.Spaz wrote:I got a leet pc lol. I play fools road with 95+ fps, everything on high.
And I already played the new maps without any problems.
EDIT : If you gonna brag at least post you computer specs
Yes sir.
Geforce 8800GTS
2.66ghz dual core
3Gb DDR-2
Thats what I could find outI really don't know anything about computers and im just happy as long as I get a good fps lol.
8800GT Overclocked to 710/1100
3.0ghz Q6600
4GB DDR2 667mhz
Fools road averages 72FPS according to fraps, although I do spend a lot of the time driving which causes significantly more strain than stationary positions/walking. That's with
1680x1050
4xAA
Everything on high except
- Lighting/Shadows [for chopper flying]
So considering the fact that even if you had the 640MB version of the 8800GTS the 8800GT is still the superior card, my CPU is clocked higher, has an equivalent amount of cache, I have more RAM and the GPU is overclocked... I'm confused as to how I'm losing out on those ~30FPS.

8800GT OC,
64 Dual core 4800+
2gb DDR2 667
Everything on high, I still get around 35/40 FPS on fools, 4x AA all high.
