ASE filter for PRMM servers?

Post by Perica Posavski »

Hi!

First I'd like to say that I -really- like this mod, played it on SP and now would like to test it out online.
I would like to know if it's possible to filter our PRMM servers in ASE, or is the only way thru the game itself, manually typing in the IP address?

Thanks in advance!

It is possible to filter in ASE, but I don't have the filter handy..

Here's an easy way to get a list of PRMM servers, though:

ASE hasn't updated their filters for months. I've just been editing it manually. Go into filters.txt in the main ASE folder, and scroll down to the bf2 mods section.

Then somewhere in with the other mods add this:

Code: Select all

Battlefield 2\Mods\Project Reality
JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH}[ +modPath mods/{gamevariant}] +restart 1 +joinServer {ip} +port {port} [ +password "{PASSWORD}"]
Group: BF2MODS
Mutex: BF2MODS
1 if gamevariant ~!= "pr" remove
I've also added in filters for a few other mods and one for the latest bf2 patch. It's easy to do, you just need to copy one of the existing ones and change the names or numbers around a bit.

One thing to note though - BF2 doesn't launch straight into a server unless you give it your username and password in the command. If you don't mind having your details visible to anyone using your computer, you can add them into the command, although I can't remember exactly what the options are. Alternatively, there's a useful tool here to let you connect to the server chosen in ASE while still choosing your login on startup
