From my basic understanding theres a slight change in accuracy/deviation. Not sure about deviation, but yeah, just a tad less accurate than the m16 due to being the carbine. Couldnt tell you much more though as I dont know... Nedlands will probably be around shortly to post the ingame specs though


And no to the GL thats just a bad idea. And like one of your pics had a GL on it... the rest had flashlights and stuff...

And I dont see why everyone complains about the PR US Army using the m4 while the PR Marines use the M16, come on people... its not a big deal, they look damn near the same anyway... its not like an AK and an M16... Its nice to have one "gun" for each force. otherwise they'd be one more step towards being too similar.

Well it may be nice to have one gun for each force but this is PR and that means if it is in Reality make it so. Don't do it cause it would be nice though.

well im no marine but i did spend 6 month in and around anbar provence and worked with marine recon (not force) and regular marine grunts during 06 and 07. every recon marine had m4 as everyone has already figured out. and almost all the regular marines had m16...unless they were an officer or high ranking nco's im assuming squad leaders and above.
project reality portrays the mounted marines so the m16 fits and if they made the officer kit an m4 then i would say its pretty damn accurate to whats in theater.

<--u can see in that pic kinda...that im wearing my marine flight suit. they tipicly wear that during winter months and sometimes when conducting mounted operations...and its very comfortable.

I'm against the M4 but all for the M203. Fireteam leaders usualy have M203's to set smokes or explosive support for their fireteam in certain cases. However, seeing how it would take two slots from the already full kit, I think it's best to keep Grenadier and Officer as different kits.

Team leaders had m16a4 w/ACOG and m203

Does the kit have enough slots for an 203? Pistol would have to be removed.

Personaly, i'd say: Give GL but only with smokes. Could be useful, but not overpowered. But, better yet, leave the pistol where it is

Its pretty simple. US Marines mainly use the M16A4, US ARMY mainly use the M4, but you can see USMar whit M4 and you can see USAr soldier whit M16A4.

But In REAL LIFE, the General whos command Marines Corps choose to keep M16 and not switch on M4 like the Army, so Project Reality reflect that. is that simple enought for you ?

But a the second you talk about "Special Operation Capable" unit, the rules dont longuer apply to them.

ValerioZ does bring up a good point in this topic. None of the guns in PR have flashlights attached.

Unfortunately BF2 does not support the kind of dynamic lighting that would make flashlights possible.
