How high can PR go?
What I mean by this is could we see a 2.0 in the next 2 years or so before BF 3 comes out. I mean BF 3 is I hope going to be the next thing the Devs work on. I know we are not even at 1.0 but once the devs get all the factions and maps in that they want will there be room to improve?? If so on what?

On the very rough 7 months between each . release we're running on currently, you're looking at 2.0 in around 7 years

the bf2 engine has limitations, my bet is that a game that is reasonably moddable and suitable for furthering project reality will be used by the PR team if it still wishes to pursue this project

What is it with people and never being happy with what they have
0.8 isnt even released and there are still threads/posts that complain about it!
I'll give 0.8 a week of glory at the rate this is going, then its all gonna be about "omgz teh deviaaationz!" and then its all about 0.9 grrr. live in the present.

Screw DICE and screw BF2. My vote goes towards finding the funding to grant the Devs and BSS the money to begin their own game. Buy the rights to one of the main-engines pre-existing out there, and rework it from scrap, like whatever Crytek calls their engine. Project Reality: The Game.

As much as others may agree with you, I do not. Yes, BF2 hasZegel wrote:Screw DICE and screw BF2. My vote goes towards finding the funding to grant the Devs and BSS the money to begin their own game. its problems. Yes, the engine isn't as open as we would like
it to be. However, hear this: The Project Reality dev team
took a game like BF2 and changed it into something this great.
If you ask me, limitations and all, I would still go with BF2.
64-player servers with land, sea, and air vehicles, plus a
decent graphics system with excellent gameplay. Besides,
the devs are always finding workarounds and adding in new
features every single release.

No, but professionally I do occasionally stab people in the arse with a needle

What? I was just asking if people thought that this mod could get to 2.0. I never said I didn't like .8 Im sure I will love it.isooth wrote:What is it with people and never being happy with what they have

Well, if we get lucky PR's models will be good enough for the Devs to import into BF3. I don't know about the maps (statics, etc.), but it might work out.

I hope the Devs bring PR to another game once the release 1.0 on BF2. Maybe then we can stop hearing our least favorite 3 syllable word, hardcoded.

Re: How high can PR go?
yea, but sometimes i wonder what the size differential is. i mean as it stands BF2's "meter" is not the same as a proportunate game meter. Maybe BF3's meter will be a lot bigger...who knows...map res will prob get a bit bigger, so maybe the vehicles scale will have to be larger too.EOD_Security-2252 wrote:Well, if we get lucky PR's models will be good enough for the Devs to import into BF3.
