It would be really nice to get foward grips though (flashlights too, but they're not functional)

Hey, good observation. What's going on there? With the metal building in the background that might be a training exercise. I don't know though, pretty weird.

Men in the 3rd pic are doing some training with no ammo apparently. The brick walls look like fake heavy plastic molded brick walls and the metal building in the back may be son quonset random building. Looks like MOUT.

'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker;777969']Marine Expeditionary Units are a combined arms force; the ground combat element is a standard infantry battalion with designated air assault (helicopter), boat and mech (AAV) companies along with reinforcements; artillery battery, tank platoon, AAV platoon, amphibious recon platoon (from divisional recon battalion), deep recon platoon (from MSOB or force recon company), etc.

Fire-team leaders in Marine rifle squads are generally also the M203 grenadiers.

With regards to the M4 in Marine service, outside of MSOB/recon/MP SRT/FAST Company, I have seen photos of it primarily in use by LAR Battalions (LAV crewmen and dismount scouts), hospital corpsmen and armor/AAV crews.

I think its down to individual unit SOP or what is available.

For instance, my unit (Logistics/Motor T/Embarkation) have A2s/A4s here, but if we were to deploy, we would probably use the M4 from what I have heard and from what the other Marines in my unit have said, done, carried. I have also heard that while they had M4s, all the grunts were carrying M16s which maybe for long range reasons.

I guess it varies, but the A4 is more suited for PR because it is more accurate and there needs to be a counter to the long range G3/QBZ etc. The
M4 can be made to have similar characterics firing wise of the M16 with an ACOG, but you get my drift.

More proof why the Doc should have an ACOG/optic. I think he does now, but this is more proof.
