Pretty much, yes.

1. Install BF2 and patch up to 1.41 if you havent already
2. Deinstall PR .75 if you got it
3. Install 0.8 Core
4. Install 0.8 Levels

In that order

If you currently run 0.756, you may also want to clear out your BF2 shaders cache (google if you don't know how).

Is it really necessary to reinstall Bf2 as well?

No, you do not need to reinstall BF2.

OMG he did say google it... but since typing in a few keywords is apparently an exercise in excessive brain power overload, here's a direct link. That's a piece of text you single click on... not double... I know you wanna right click... no just single click the text below these words:

Download Battlefield 2 Cleaner 2.0 - Battlefield 2 fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle Coalition. - Softpedia

Ffs... He just told you to google it. How lazy can a person get?!
Never argue with an idiot, he will just drag you down to his level and beat you by experience ;)
