KYONGAN'NI FINAL RELEASE...

Post by NikovK »

Before the official map pack edition!

http://www.gloryhoundz.com/downloads/Ro ... Ni-1.7.zip

Same drill. Gloryhoundz is running a test server courtesy of Fritz's good graces. I look foward to seeing you in the field.

There are some performance issues lingering with this map, however, they mostly involve machines that would already have trouble with some vanilla maps. As such, if your machine stutters or briefly freezes when you encounter a new object or effect, it is due to Battlefield 2's terrible precaching.

We have learned why BF2 did not ship with Operation Flashpoint-style maps. The engine cannot handle it on higher graphics settings. So for Flashpoint-style maps, we have to slide back a little on the graphics scale. I view this as a nessicary evil, and after a year and some upgrades the hardware should catch up for everyone. Until then, buckle down and make do.

With that said, get this version on your machine and get to the test server with your friends.

By slide back on the graphics scale, do you mean we will have to individualy lower our settings to acheive playable framerate (i hope, as i upgraded parts of a new machine specifically for bf2 when it first came out, then again), or did you actually lower settings for the map while in design, other then the usually undergrowth/overgrowth kind of stuff?

Turn down the game settings for your GAME if you encounter problems; a good system shouldn't have much trouble besides. I've already trimmed the map as much as I can without ruining the feel of a forested Korean valley with grassy fields.
