I noticed that there is lots of fog on SAK2, mostly to improve performance, and i imagine to add the dust element. But i noticed that the fog only distorts whats directly infront of you in a large spear, and that on the edges of the screen you can actually see very clearly, which is somewhat of a small exploit type thing.
I know its not exactly something to you can always use to your advantage, but those of us with large screens (24"+) can actually see quite a bit more of the edge with the added screen real estate. I noticed i could spot enemies from a much greater distance if turned perpendicular to the area i was trying to increase my view distance and used teh edges of the screen to identify the target, and then if i wanted, to exploit the view distance and adjust my strategy to where i saw the enemy placement.

Yeah, i figured it was one of those BF2 things that cant be changed because of EA's dev practices. All their games look the same to me, with the textures, etc. BF2 reminds me alot of teh way the building look in needforspeed UG1+2 and Most wanted, and countless others. For an exercise in bad/boring textures check out The Godfather; specifically the sky texture.
