PR Trailer Software

Post by GoArmy117 »

Hi all,

I was just wondering what software was used in the making of the Project Reality trailers (video editing software, audio editing software, etc.). I am thinking of making a few movies and would like to know whats you people use.

Thanks!

Be great if he posted here so we all know - I made a vid for my map, and I used MS moviemaker - it looked ok till I uploaded it to youtube and then it looked ****. Theres a few progs knocking around, but some are pretty complicated. Does vimeo give better resolution, or is it just used because its aimed at gaming vids?

actually, vimeo is getting rid of gaming vids, and putting a ban up for them. since like sep 1 you can't upload any gaming vids (no matter what it is)

Try Sony Vegas, it's the best I've used.

You're lucky I'm not warning you for this.

You tube is a pain because it takes the quality down a bit. Vimeo is probably the best place to host. There's a lot of hosting sites around. Just experiment which one you prefer. Some like vimeo for better quality... but you might get more views on youtube.

didnt know that - I wonder why? A vids a vid and I thought that all they would care about is getting viewers - its probably some legal **** about copyrighted material :/

Vimeo has banned gaming videos. :(

Wipido is reputed to have good quality. WeGame is pretty good, and it includes its own free recorder. YouTube can have good quality with the &fmt=18 add-on. Veoh might work for some, it's a little step up from YouTube.

Fraps or WeGame are common video recorders gaming-wise. To edit, people can use Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas or Avid.

I did a bit of research before i posted my vid, and all the hosting sites offered similar res - the only high res one was stage6. I read somewhere that matching the formats and res made a difference ( divx or whatever ) but it obviously didnt work for me despite trying :(
Could try uploading to tube8 - great videos there
