Re: sniper "issue"
And just a little addendum, Zeppelin said:
But it also seems someone needs to look over the coding because of these problems.
Here's the kicker, I asked for this too when I complained about the Marksman in the tester thread... I was ACTUALLY given the printout of the coding. Its at or better than the rifle of the same faction... buuuuut theres the deviation when moving and such... and for whatever reason, even if you feel you are doing it right... doesnt always do as such.
I admit it needs work, but at the same time, the problem isnt in the current coding. Or at least, as far as I know, because the coding is all set up to work perfectly the way Wolfe described... :\
Til then, dont use it if you cant

hiberNative wrote:TEST TIME!
just did a test on a kashan training server.
shot at the front side window of a humvee which might be 27x27 inches (~70x70cm).
ran, dived into prone, crawled a bit, stopped, aimed at target and activated the breathing, shot when the breathing stopped.
the results were the same for both the us m24 and mec ssg-p1 at both ranges:
200 meters = 100% accuracy. no bullet drop at all, nailed to the spot i aimed at.
500 meters = 95% accuracy, hitting withing the humvee window. about 12 inches/30 cm bullet drop, which i constantly got after countless of rounds. not always hitting the spot i was aiming at when taking the bullet drop into account, but still well within window.
5% missing cause of some misses when slowly dragging the crosshair over target.
needless to say, i have huge faith in these sniper rifles between the ranges above...
Yea, cuz firing at stationary targets and waiting 8 seconds between shots is really practical......and btw breathing does NOTHING to improve accuracy.
Next time u go out for a "test" try going prone and shoot at something within 3 seconds. The distance really doesn't matter. Yes, that is your bullet hitting ten meters to the left.
Now, after sitting still forever, shoot at something. But don't move your reticule either, cuz that's just crazy. After a minute your bullet should hit where you're aiming at.
Now if, for whatever reason, you decide to move your reticule (crazy, I know) remember that only God knows where that bullet will go, unless of course, you stop the reticule and wait 8 seconds before firing.
It's easy...really....

^ Random pants ALSO has a point, hehe.
Hence, sniper rifle is USELESS in the battlefield. Lets just recon guys! I dont even know why i have the sniper rifle with me, lol, i think i should just get binoculars and maybe a personal self defence weapon, BRING IT!
but i digress... Seriously, read what i posted on page.... 4, yeah 4.

Maybe theres a bug that, even though it is set up to work perfectly as the DEVs want, it isnt. And so when people complain, DEVs say, well THIS is how it works, BUT its not really working as it should. Wolfe said that himself that there are little quirks/bugs with the kit.
ALL Im saying, is that if you dont think you can use it and be of help to the team, DONT take it. There is nothing arrogant about that.
And Im sorry if it came off that way. Seriously![]()
It's cool, I just thought that since you didn't say in your first post that you couldn't use it either, you were in effect saying "I know how to use the leet snipez, y'all just can't handle it"
Glad to hear you say it could use work (alot of work). I hate all these people on the forums that think anyone who complains about something is noobish, and just cant handle it, especially when it comes to the sniper kit.
Guys, if you haven't tested out the sniper kit, create a local and do the test like in my previous post, it might shock you.
Now if we could all stand in a candlelit circle, hold hands and close our eyes while slowly chanting..."the sniper kit is broken...the sniper kit is broken..."

Re: sniper "issue"
ugh, you're annoying.
you don't need to shoot them when they are stationary. the aim allows you to track as long as you're not dragging too fast. and no, the breath doesn't last for 8 seconds.random pants wrote:Yea, cuz firing at stationary targets and waiting 8 seconds between shots is really practical
i know, it's there so you don't need to count in your head... which i appreciate.......and btw breathing does NOTHING to improve accuracy.
why would i, when you need to wait a bit longer than 3 seconds to fire accurately? that's how the devs want it.]Next time u go out for a "test" try going prone and shoot at something within 3 seconds. The distance really doesn't matter. Yes, that is your bullet hitting ten meters to the left.
again, you can move your rectile, but slowly. try different speeds and you'll see what works. Now, after sitting still forever, shoot at something. But don't move your reticule either, cuz that's just crazy. After a minute your bullet should hit where you're aiming at. Re: sniper "issue"
I think this has been discussed to death, both now and in every previous version of PR. Feedback in the Feedback section, rants and e-arguments like this will be locked. Just be glad I didn't hand out infractions this time.
Locked.
Locked.
