If you crash it AND a lag-spike isn't detected at the time of the crash. If you get AA'd, it's 5 minutes.

voted for learning, its allmost impossible to learn anything usefull on training servers so if someone crashes a heli tell him to have a more time for example co-piloting or in any other way to get trained on the FIELD

Depends, if it is a guy with a mic, and is mature not just fking around. A guy that respects the mod and want to learn, i will happily let him fly and teach him.

But it if its a childish dude that has no mic and talks in 1337 and has already crashed 3 chopper without taking out, i say kick him.

I consider myself a decent 'BF pilot', but all the drama involved in flying in PR (relentless judgment, abuse, TKing, squad kicking/locking etc.) turns me off it.

Things are just much more easy going when you're a grunt, not constantly getting into arguments over assets and so on.

I dislike an incompetent pilot as much as the next guy, but it's too easy to jump to conclusions and get into a flame war in the middle of a match over it. Not caring or doing something else seems to be the easiest way out.

I suppose that's one of the reasons pilots dont carry any weapons in PR. :P

I know im not good as a pilot, so im not even trying to fly, 2 days ago I played muttrah on US side, got inside a trans huey on carrier, and the noobish pilot flipped the chopper 1 meter from the carrier right into the water, killing every1 inside.

Planes spawn in 20 minutes...
Guy who gets the helo between 20 and 25 minutes gets kicked for "Stealing assets"

I got 2 of my friends to play PR. The 1st felt lost and simply dragged after me on fallujah, and then QQed PR is 2 complicated and hard, the other, wanted to use tanks and apcs on the 1st day, and QQed that PR is boring (cuz he expected to see action around every corner) and got pissed off when I told him not to shoot without a reason, he also QQed when I drove the long way around the edge of the map on Al Basrah. I just gave up on both of them nabs.

They definetly deserve to be kicked, banning is a bit harsh IMHO.

Or just tell them "lrn2fly in training and come back after that." or something like that.

Most civilized servers have aperfectly fair first squad asset rule so if people are hanging around waiting for vehicles they aren't entitled to then its just bad admining.

The problem is you really cant learn any troop dropping, AA evading etc. stuff that you would in-game. I think the best way to learn is to first start off at a regular training server whit the basic avionics and landing stuff and then go to a real server flying whit experienced players

You know what's even worse when an Air squad loses its choppers and then goes for the restricted kits. O :-x

Its been hundreds of times where I just saw a transport squad going around with a sniper, HAT and a combat engineer and getting killed in 5 minutes.

You can learn on Training maps, I have had the advantage of a Top teamwork pilot showing me the basic helicopter techniques. Thanks Aaron!
Assuming you can find just one mate, or even a nice guy you don't know, on a training server you can take turns manning AA and piloting.
We were three 'mates' flying, lazing and pratising drop offs!

I would still not fly with people, but I was at least able to take a huey back to main when the pilot was shot whilst on the ground!

Yes i love the potential of Kashan, but tooo often there is 10-20 people in Main waiting while one 3 man squad tries to capture flags.
