Ramiel and Fallujah West

Post by npsxbox »

The current Ramiel is going to be a very similar map to Fallujah West, if not identical in concept. An Middle East insurgency city map, with US forces battling insurgents looking for caches.

So, the question is, Since the 2 maps will pretty much be the same concept (but different map - hence different gameplay), will you keep both maps in future releases or do you plan on retiring Ramiel when Fallujah West is ready? btw, Ramiel already is, and Fallujah West will be, a better map than Al Basrah imo...Basrah just doesn't quite work all that great. Plus its way smaller

That's like saying " Since Jabal and Muttrah v2 is pretty much the same, America invading MEC but different gameplay , then shouldn't they retire Jabal since its old?

No, good maps should never be removed. How is 2 of a good thing bad? Bad maps that people unanimously agree aren't very enjoyable?... yeah remove those (or change them if they are salvageable). Also everybody has their own tastes. Some people really like CQC others like long range maps, others like a variety of anything and everything. Also Ramiel is simulating (loosely) Mogadishu which is on the continent of Africa. Plus if some Somali skins and new custom houses are added Ramiel will be even better.

I hope Ramiel stays in PR for a long time. At least until I get back from studying abroad so I can play it some more. :P

That being said, Fallujah West map will be significantly smaller and mroe concentrated, I think, so its not going to be the same.

Besides, Fallujah West is an AMAZING map while Ramiel pales in comparison. Seriously. :P

Anyway, its too early to talk about maps being taken out or put in. So I suggest just playing in the now :) Hehe

And thanks for the kind words, as Ramiel is my first map, I am always glad to see it enjoyed by players.

i hope to god ramiel stays, it rocks.

and im sure fallujah west is going to rock bigtime.

besides, i think they arent all that alike, i mean even though theres not a HUGE difference between the army and marine factions, im still a bigger marine fan and fallujah would satisfy the biggest desire i have for a PR map. some people are bigger army fans, they now have a bunch of maps to choose from. plus, just by looking at ramiel i can tell alot of hard work went into it, it would be a total shame if it was taken out.

Already been mentioned. The screens you see there are WIP and the Army was in just because they were a new faction. Who knows though, duckhunt might leave them in to mix things up on y'all. I'm sure charliegrs wouldn't mind ;) heheh

ye lol.

I've tested out some very recent builds of fullujah and its going to offer something very different than what Ramiel offers. Both are good maps, but in the end, no map will offer the same thing (unless its a clone :p )

Personally I think we should have the PLA on Fallujah, just to really surprise everyone.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Ramiel is awesome (I can't decide if I like Ramiel or Korengal more), and you can't not have Fallujah. If PR retires/cancels Fallujah I'm going back to Pirates.

Ramiel is a great map. For now on, any insurgency map that is released MUST include the muslim call to prayer sound around the mosque area. Absolutely engrossing and haunting! I love it.

If you're going to get rid of a map, get rid of that chinese map with the flag in the middle of the huge crater/mine thing.

Honestly I think Ramiel is a new concept and a great one, while Fallujah West also looks awesome but more of a replacement for Al Basrah imo.

So 2 Iraq maps is too much? One is marines vs insurgents the other Brits vs ins. The loadout & locations are different. Why not just have 1 map since every map at its core is just guys with guns killing other guys with guns? Is PR a grocery store with limited shelf space and it needs to get out old milk before it expires or something? Do people not realize what goes in to making maps/factions etc? Imagine you made a masterpiece painting then some guy comes along and says "um yeah we already have one of those" and tears your painting up.
