Was v0.8 better then you thought?
Many people were saying v0.8 was better then any other PR release, now that it is out vote.

Could you add something like: "PR v0.8 is exactly what I thought/hoped it would be".

Anyway, yeah, pretty much how I thought it would come out. Which is really ****ing awesome.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

It was something what i expected (and its great) but one thing that buggers me is that now you can die from a single pistol shot (which is quite annoying)

Exactly as I thought it would be.
It however is still made of win and gold.

You know, there'd be little point in the devs working on it if they didn't make it better than it was before.

Beforehand, i thought 0.8 was going to be about a few new maps and US Army, and some adjustment of the gameplaychanges implemented in 0.7.
I was blown away...

Except Crash to desktop, wich gonna be fix pretty soon by R-Dev team i'm sure, the 0.809 meet more than my expectation, even if i was knowning a big quantity of stuff that was coming, that where soooo much more i was not knowning. In other word; a pretty good surprise.

Re: Was v0.8 better then you thought?
I love everything about it apart from the four issues:
1. You sprint like a stoned sloth. And have about as much stamina as the 1 tonne man.
2. You aim like a blind 4 year old cripple who has weak arms.
3. Rally points are incredibly easy to destroy.
4. Kit limitiations in no way reflect a RL section set up.
However, I love the new maps, content, etc. Kongreal valley (I'm pretty sure I just mispelled that but meh.) is the most fun I've ever had in PR, seems to live up to my imagination as just like Afghanistan is like.
All in all, its a generally positive thing, but I obviously have those four gripes with it. Oh, what is not mentioned all that much, the animations are absolute gold.

<edit> the RP changes were necessary. can you imagine trying to find and knife an RP on ramiel, muttrah or korengal? it would be an absolute nightmare, as there are literally thousands of hiding places. the RPs arent forward spawnpoints any more, period. keep 'em in secured locations where they should be and they stay alive just fine.

Re: Was v0.8 better then you thought?
There's no doubt alot of effort went in and I was certainly stunned by all the changes but my initial reaction to .8 (as the prior version) is negative. It could cool over by the time a patch comes out though but I strongly feel the kit cycle/pool is now useless. Yes it enhances the meaning of having a limited kit but knowing it isn't going to be there for 5 minutes damages your team to.
This causes problems to squad abilities and also enhances the likelihood of rape (think EJOD). Reducing the time to two and a half minutes would be a dramatic change that still made the kit and your life important.

It was more epic than I imagined. I was thinking more .756 with just new vehicles, maps and game modes. Now the gameplay's been revolutionized, and so much more has been done than I expected.
I am pleasantly surprised.
