Make pilot/crewman unlocks?

There should only be pilot/crewman kits as unlocks. This way ONLY those who take a little "course" can fly helicopters/drive tanks (all that's in a helicopter and aircraft version is kill some dummy targets with all weapons, take off and land at least twice, and avoid enemy missiles at least 75% of the time). All you have to do is edit their stat-file on the PR servers (include a profile and possibly an auto-updater with every server license) and then they get the unlock :smile:

How this would help: it would prevent those not trained with helicopters/planes from flying them and therefore kill off some of the "I WANTZ TEH A10 PLOX" noobs who crash it in 2 minutes. Lastly, a dropped pilot kit has a degrade time of like .0001 seconds (to prevent them from G-spamming it).

they should do that with every kit! have a qualifacation course were you can only go through it twice (the first to maybe get familiarized with the weapon?) and if you don't qualify then you cant get the kit. and make it were you can qualify higher than some people (more points earned while qualifying for better shots) and then when you go play normally if you have a higher qualifying score then someone else on the server then you get it and they dont. and make the regular rifleman kit really easy to pass so then if you don't qualify with anything else you can still use the regular rifles.

anyone else think that would be a good idea?

True, but this suggestion is 100 times better then fastropes.

Not sure if it can be implemented though.

The only thing I could find as an application for a fastropish thingy is the basket on USCG helicopters. Of course, the USCG isn't involved (though they were in Vietnam) with any wars.

But this is a necessary suggestion to cut down on the number of asset wasters. We all have our bad days and uh ohs now and then - this is to see that 9 times out of 10 you can take off properly.
