Sniper Question

Post by Brute »

In order to start your breathing cycle, press the "change firerate" key.
I have tried this in game and cant seem to work out when the shot is the most accurate, I am currently under the belief that it is at the end of the breathing cycle, so therefore you have to wait till his breating slows down. Is this assumption correct? Do you have to hold the scope still for a few seconds or what? Could a DEV or someone tell me how the sniper works?

Cheers,

I have been confuzed dearly about this kit ever since the release in .8

Its a nasty kit, completely distasteful, but if u must know;

Apparently the part im right on is when u press 3 nothing should happen except u hear breathing, and once the breathing stopps is when the shot is most accurate.

But i dont know if we are allowed to move scope and shoot, or if we have to keep it still for a certain amount of minutes before startign the breathing technique, iv gotten 5 different stories and i just dont care anymore, no point in the sniper kit anymore.

Just use ur binoculars, thats all the Devs want us to do with that kit.

If you grab the HAT kit and observe how the 'lock on' methingy responds to being moved, I think thats how the sniper works, moving the scope slowy a short distance shouldn't affect the shot

the real problem appears to be engaging targets at less than 400m, the shot just goes haywire, I'm assuming this is something to do with how realistic ballistics didn't make it to 0.8, and the new zeroing was the less liked alternative

Pressing "3", with the sniper rifles, plays a breathing sound which is exactly 8 seconds long. It has no influence on the deviation whatsoever. It takes exactly 8 seconds for the deviation to settle after moving and after firing. What you do is press "3" after firing or moving* and wait until the sound has disappeared, then you are ready to fire. Also you are 5 times more accurate prone then standing or crouched with the sniper rifles IIRC.

Could you please clarify something for me? Could you after firing press 3 and then wait 8 seconds, but then the guy you are aiming at moves, could you then move the scope to where he moved to and it will still be accurate without waiting for another 8 seconds?

I think it is you have to wait 1 sec for every 100 m so 4 sec for 400 m.

And you should be able to track your target to a certain extent, but if you move your mouse a lot you will have to wait again for it to settle.
