Crazy Lag

Okay,

On a training map for The Battle of Qinling, I had 110 ping, and it ran smooth, but when I started to fly half way down the map, lag struck, slideshow began, and "DEAD".

It's deffinately not my problem or PC...never happened in .75 release.

Also in the map "Ramiel" when close to a fire, you get lag as well.

ramiel and quinling just cause alot of PC chug in general, most people leave the server when the maps come up in rotation cause their PC's start loading sporadically and it makes it very difficult to play. i'm on xp with 2gb of ram and it chugs so i think you need at least 3gb or something, and on vista even more.

I have 4 gigs of RAM, an 8800GT 512 MB SLI, and an AMD Athlong 64 6400+ at 3.2GHz....I can run Crysis on Very High, I don't know why it's so bad here lol.

i've been getting some weird lag from time to time... never had before. Seems to happen when driving.. i'll get a 5 - 10 second total freeze. It's so bad i'm expecting to get a CTD but suddenly i'm back in game. Literally a 10 second total freeze. Something's not happy.

Guys, i had the same problem and needed to download a windows hotfix it's for Vista give it a go it worked great for me this is the discription and link hope it helps.

i have a similar pc and get the same thing, really bad in heli's to the point i can set foot in them! also any insurgence maps i get huge lag spikes, but my ping is only 34

Same thing happens to me - every now and then the game starts hicking like it goes to 1-5 fps at least a badass slide show. Then it's good for a little while. I've got a brand new PC with 8800GT and all so it's not that. And I'm running XP.

And yeah it didn't happen to me untill 0.8.

Now I've tried installing new gfx card drivers, new mobo drivers, reinstalled BF2 and the whole thing, defragmented, did everything except format. What on earth can this be?

I keep getting those 10-30s slideshow moments all the time.

I think this could just be your graphics settings, I'm on a single core P4 @ 3.4GHz with 2GB of 533MHz RAM (Slow as hell) and a GeForce 7300 LE with 512MB VRAM, I run everything on low, but view distance scale at 100% and geometry at medium so I can view models half decently at least.

i got problem service communication failure wtf i dont have a anti virus i uninstalled and i installed services and i updated everything wtf i need help

It shows that there isn´t such a big difference in quality if you lower
some settings but you can get rid off fps drops and freezups
I had this problem on Ramiel.
I´ve tried to run every settting to max.
It resulted in 80-100fps on local, 50-60 on fullserver but then i got like 5 second freezeups every 30sec or so. Not so playable.
So i changed Dyn light and Dyn shadows to medium.
Now i get 60-80fps on a full server but more important, no freezups.

2. uninstall services
3.reboot comp
4.install services.
5.reboot comp
6.make updates
7.reboot

... i have an 8500 and the only time i get the 5-10 fps hiccups is when i'm surrounded by smoke...

Same problem, not only in Ramiel but in all maps. I disabled dyn light and shadows and now I have no more freezeups... which wasnt't really nice, when flying the littlebird
